I was waiting in the regular line at the San Jose Fairmont Hotel. Being a Presidents Club member I was not accustomed to waiting in a long line, but since i got a deal on Groupon I thought it would be best to stay in the regular line. The Presidents Club line was open and I received an accommodating waive to come over and check in. Kevin G. was at my service and treated me like a star. He asked me how my day was and if I needed any help with the 3 bags my wife had packed. I declined and proceeded to wonder why i would need three bags for a one night stay. i explained that my wife and I were on a short stay to get some reprieve from our young three boys,,Kevin G chuckled and took my CC and ID. He was able to get us into a nice room in the tower, across the short walkway. I suggest the tower rooms if you want a little more privacy, but if you want to be closer to the hotel lobby and restaurants I would stay in the main building. When leaving the front desk i exchanged last words with my new best friend Kevin G and went up to my room with a wonderful view of the downtown lights.. Thanks Kevin G for your professional service that I expect when staying at a Fairmont Hotel, you made my stay a relaxing time. Breakfast downstairs the next morning was magical. Not too crowded but lively. I suggest a la cart for a more nominal fee although the buffet looked tempting, as i was not that hungry. I cant wait to go back to the Fairmont, my oasis in the city.

We were there for a Santa Clara Univ. reunion. The hotel was full. Because we signed up for the Pres, Club we moved over to the special spot and got checked in quickly. Wow, it really worked.
The service for the 3 days that we were there was constantly quick,available and friendly.
The restaurant was good but "hotel" expensive. There are other restaurants available in nearby places.
Even though we live in a nearby town, we enjoy staying to be with friends and enjoy the hotel.

Just stayed there for business. Room was spotless clean and modern. Lobby bar is terrific for small casual meetings and nice for drinks at night.
The hotel restaurant, the “Grill” has terrific food, but a little overpriced. The Elyse restaurant close by is new and exquisite food. We had 6 of us for dinner and all great. Reasonably priced.
Check in and out was smooth and friendly.

Stayed at this hotel recently for a business trip. The rooms are starting to look a little dated. Also the immediate area around the hotel is starting to look a little bit rougher. Service was still top notch, but the price for a room does not seem like a good value considering what other hotels go for in the area. I'd recommend staying somewhere else if you're looking for a good luxury hotel.

We get consistently great service and ammenities at the Fairmont San Jose. We like to stay in the updated Tower building. The Fountain offers a lovely breakfast and brunch. Staff are attentive and helpful from reception to restaurants. The gym is fully equipped and also features a sauna.
