This hotel is great - big property with private beach, lots going on, good pool and spa.
Rooms were good and had no issues. Great staff.
The one thing I would say is that the hotel and the amenities are beginning to show their age. The beach club was a little tired and the hotel is a bit dated in the lobby.
That said, I would highly recommend the property. The Spa is particularly fabulous and some of the spa amenities are available after 6:30 PM (heated indoor pool, multiple hot tubs.
Very accessible to a number of local restaurants that offer more value than some of the on property restaurants, though they are very good.

Stunningly beautiful location with views of the ocean or the lighthouse. The rooms are pure comfort and contentment. There is a shuttle which will take you on a short ride to the property’s private beach area which is exquisite. A ferry into Hamilton is also available if you wish. The service is impeccable, restaurants are outstanding ...you’ll be tempted to never leave the grounds, but don’t forget to get out and explore every corner of Bermuda.

Hotel was nice very accommodating and comfortable from the time we stepped inside of the lobby. Room was cleaned daily view from my room I see the island and open the patio door and let the breeze come in. Receptionist was very insightful and gave me a list things/ places I should visit while there. I truly enjoyed my stay and didn’t want to leave can’t wait to visit again this year.

The hotel is beautiful and has its own private beach! The staff is friendly. Some negatives: the walls are very thin so privacy suffers. The television and WIFI are quite spotty. The on-sight food is very expensive and nothing to write home about. Go for the beach and the nice atmosphere and bring ear plugs!

We had a great stay at the Fairmont Southampton this past Nov 6-11th. We are a family of 5 and got a great deal for the rooms including a meal plan. Kids' room and dining were FREE . The hotel is big and very nice. Customer service for the most part was great. The people of Bermuda are so happy and friendly! The island is small and everything is very, very expensive (think New York City prices or higher). The rooms were big and beautiful, although our "Sea View" rooms (3398 & 3396) overlooked the maintenance trucks and yard, but we had a view of the lighthouse. I purposely upgraded from a Lighthouse View to a SeaView room, but you could barely see the water through the trees infront of the hotel. Management offered to move us to another room or adjust our rate - we took the adjustment since we had already settled in to both rooms. The manager, Rachel, was very sweet and accommodating and handled it very professionally which was a pleasure.. Things to note: the pool is old and needs some refurbishments. The hotel is clean for the most part but not up to say, "Disney standards". I did notice a plastic bag and plastic cups floating in the pool and no one thought anything of it, nor did staff remove it. Dirty rags on the beautiful patio overlooking the pool and some garbage lying around on the ground. Little things like that really surprised me and are a bit of a turnoff. Our rooms however, were immaculate and the cleaning staff was so so so sweet and friendly. A few of the restaurants were closed for the season (keep this in mind for the whole island) but we ate at Jasmins The Waterlot and Windows on the Sound, which we loved. Be sure to remind staff if you booked the "kids eat free package "- we were charged for the kids' meals a couple of times by mistake. Also a must - check your bill upon checking out! We were charged for 7 people per day on our bill so the taxes and gratuities were outrageous! I went to get it fixed and there were 2 other people doing the same thing, trying to get their bill adjusted because of errors!! Luckily I brought the original booking email with me so I knew exactly what I was supposed to get charged as opposed to what I was being charged. The woman at the desk had no customer service skills, to say the least. She was very short with me and very condescending. It was a very unpleasant experience and left a bad taste with us on our last day. I was simply explaining that we had a family of 5 and that was how I booked the rooms online.. She was very snippy and trying to tell me that it was booked with 7 people. I felt like I was put on the defensive for a mistake made by the hotel. She was definitely NOT a local Bermudian (I forgot to get her name). It was too bad we left off on that negative note. That being said, I won't let one bad apple ruin my experience and we will probably try the Fairmont again sometime in the future - possibly just with couples.Bermuda is a must do for couples!!
