Visited last week and stayed at ffort suites. Its at a small distance from the main ffort raichak. The suites are in form of two storied bunglow with four separate unit consisting of big drawing cum dining room,a big bed room,a kitchenette and a bath room.
The reception and common dining room is in a separate building. The check in and checkout was smooth and fast. The food -b/f,lunch and dinner was part of package and fixed menu type but ample quantities for 4 people and a kid and replenished in time. The food quality was yummy. The rate was around Rs6500/-+GST per day for 2 persons inclusive of food-b/f,lunch and dinner-in my opinion value for money.Go to the river bank to watch sunset -,take morning walk around the property and breathe fresh air and relax, swim and enjoy for 2-3 days. However no wifi in the room. The service at the restaurant was good.
Has a Heritage look of a Fort

This Resort is about 50 - 60 Kms from Central Kolkata, bang on the bank of River Ganga. Most of the crowd are people staying in Kolkata who spend their weekend here, thus their Check in time is 6 PM & Check out at 4 PM. It is a huge campus and also has other properties, Anaya and Ganga Kuthir. The F-Fort is the oldest one (also the cheapest among the others) and was once part of Radisson Group, now owned by Ambuja Neotia.
Almost every year they have a promotion for their rooms, where 4 nights can be booked for Rs. 9999 + Taxes (the promotion is generally from 1 Jan - 31 Mar) the stay can be anytime after buying the promotion till 29 Dec, the price paid covers only the stay, food is separately charged at the hotel. However, on certain days there are surge charge so its better to have a word with the booking team before proceeding for a stay.
They have 2 Restaurants, Reflections serves Indian and Continental mainly, the Buffet breakfast is also served here, another one is 'The Orient' this is a Chinese restaurant. Other than that there are some more restaurants in the other properties, 'Sonar Tori' being the most talked about, serves authentic Bengali cuisine and is in Ganga Kuthir.
Some Cons of the place:
- The property is nice and good for taking a break and relaxing for a weekend, however, there are nothing much to see as you step out of the campus, except for River Gagna.
- The drive to the campus is through Diamond Harbour Road (NH 117), the road after Joka is pretty narrow for a 2 way traffic, so one has to exercise caution and would be very difficult for people not much used to such kind of traffic. One would encounter fast moving buses and trucks from the opposite direction, there are several villages in between, locals on road would surely slow down the speed. Night driving becomes even more difficult as majority portion of the stretch of the road after Joka does not have Street Light.
- The Parking facility is under the trees, the car is bound to get dirty from the bird droppings, would require quite an effort for getting it cleaned.
- As one steps out of the resort campus, especially after check-out there would be local standing on the road stopping approaching vehicles and would ask for money (in the form of subscription) for some of their functions, religious celebrations (Pujas).
"Awesome Property Awful Services"
JAMIKA2014 on 07/10/2017 06:02
Awe inspiring property and location. One can hit the location in just about 2.5 hrs from Kolkata.
Tucked in a dream location on the bank of wider flowing Ganges, surrounded by good properties around.
Aweful choice of food, worst food preparation. For non-vegeterian it is a stale place. Place is superbly costly than what the services quality it deserves.
Management is not upto the mark. Services lack attention, people in front office are not empowered enough. For every decision they need to check back with their bosses.
Very slow response in services.
Breakfast menu is not good and not replenished regularly.
During dinner and breakfast service people seemed busy talking to each other and taking services casually.
It is sad that the best property leaves you with worst feeling...A big let down.
Good for 2-3 days of relaxation

The resort is around 3-3.5 hours from Kolkata. Route is a scary two way "highway" with anything and everything on the road. I do not suggest self driving from Kolkata since the local buses, trucks and cycle rickshaws are very aggressive and will always try to push you out of the road. Above that, drivers are rash.
Stayed at the FFort Suites (just adjacent to the FFort Raicjak)
My views on the FFort Suites property:
Reception: very small reception with limited seating arrangement. Check-in/Check-out was reasonably quick
Landscaping: well done but needs improvements in pockets. Nice walkway and arch in the middle of the property
Rooms: rooms are in form of two story bungalows. two rooms at the GF and two on 1st floor. Rooms are huge equipped with a dining table, sofa bed, a small kitchen with fridge, tea maker and main bedroom with a balcony. There is only 1 bathroom and has 2 doors - one from the outside of the bedroom and the other from inside the bedroom. Make sure that you lock both doors before commencing your business (unless you're on your honeymoon). some antiques also in the room - photos attached
a lot of bungalows are undergoing renovation - so be sure to take a look before you spread out your luggage.
Amenities:
- Swimming pool available at FFort Raichak, quite large and clean
- Pub: just beside the swimming pool with a dance floor (medium size). Most liquor and beer brands available
- Cycles available at a charge (kids and adult sizes)
- restaurants veg and non-veg
- Sports activities: combined tennis and basket ball court, open air badminton, mini football, mini golf.
- Wifi: only at lobby, not in rooms
Food: taste is good, make sure you ask for local cuisine. Breakfast isn't widespread but does the job. Lunch and dinner are either buffet or ala-carte
Staff: good staff
In and around the resort: nothing really, just the banks of Ganga. It's a calm and quiet place, ideal if you dont want noise in your vacation.
Pathetic Resorts in Raichak
Sanchit A on 09/09/2017 14:39
The resorts in Raichak, be it Anaya, fort, Ganga kutir are totally unprofessional and worst resort i have seen. Being the only resort in this area, they have no provision for room service at night. We called the reception at night saying we have ordered food so they reply us we dont have room service in night but according to the Restaurant they do have room service. After this we managed to get food from the resort, now we have to fight for the plates and spoon because the resort cannot provide you plates and spoon at the night because they dont have plates and spoon for guest at night. So we had to eat on tea cup plates and 1 tea spoon for 2 of us which were already dirty.
Moreover to add in this if someone is not well then according to reception they dont have a policy to provide food in the room and restaurant says we can provide it.
We stayed in Anaya and Hotel Reception is not aware of such services.
Being a Travel agent, this is the worst experience and resort i have ever worked with.
Wont recommend to any of the client as first they need to learn work.
Just to let resort people know that apploggies cannot overcome such experience, so please dont do it. After such experience, we donot wish to get any of our clients in this resort.
Saying thanks to the resort for making this stay memorable for not coming to this resort ever again.
