A pretty bad hotel, a little on the outskirts of Shimla town. Hotel is par below in Standards; Room heaters were offered on extra payment during peak winter... Quality of food was very poor, no taste but too salty... A very horrible stay indeed...
Would suggest to look out for other good hotels in Shimla...

Took a cab from Kalka. The hotel is located on the right side of the Old Bus Stand or Cart Road before entering the town of Shimla. It has a parking space. The Shimla railway station is a further 10 mins walk ahead. The Shimla bus terminus is a 15 minutes drive. Such good connectivity comes at a cost. It takes a walk of 15-20 mins to reach the Mall Road.
The hotel is surrounded by cedar and pine trees. We had a corner room with large windows. Monkeys would play outside the windows and on the trees. The morning sun will light up the room.
The room and the washroom were clean but otherwise average. The view of the town was beautiful at night, especially when the full moon rose above the hills.
The food was tasty, even if a little spicier than I like. Both veg and non-veg are served.
Stayed there for 2N3D. The staff was warm and helpful.
I'll recommend to friends and family.

Hotel Firhill is good location in Shimla. Room is very Good. Food quality is also good. The rooms have to be renovated to current standards. But better stay at Chail
an extra mile to make your stay comfortable.

25 families including mine stayed in this hotel in may 22 and 23, 2016. It is an average hotel. But the hotel is poorly maintained. Many of the rooms were not fully cleaned for weeks. It is clear from the included photographs.
Most of the toilets were not clean at all. In some rooms, they even denied to clean even after request.
They had in house kitchen. Dining hall is good. But, quality if complimentary breakfast is very poor.
In the parking area, 5-6 cars can be parked. There is no register for giving rooms. They had allocated 25 rooms without obtaining any signature. I don't know whether this is a custom in shimla.
Road in front of this hotel will be having heavy traffic block during day time.
Inside the rooms the linens were not clean in many rooms. They provides just a small bath soap as complimentary. Nothing else.
If you are looking for clean hotel in Shimla look else where.

We stayed there twice once in 2009 and in 2015 only because of great hospitality by Mr Ajay Dogra the owner rooms were clean spacious airy good food personalized touch by the rest of staff situated at calm place not far from most of the tourist spots
