Thinking it would not busy on a Wednesday popped in for dinner to find it packed but we were seated and served very quickly, food was excellent. We had the full works starter dinner and pud.
I had the pie as it's always full to the brim not just crust.

The rooms are nice and spacious. The bathroom was a bit compact but functional. Service was superb, staff are nice, helpful and accommodating. We were there with my daughter and grandson and they went out of the way to make the feel at good. The restaurant is good if not top cuisine. Good dishes cooked competently. I will definitely go back.

This is a great place to visit for lunch especially if you have a wait for the ferry. The decor is a gastro-style but without the loss of character so often associated with refreshing a local. It's comfortable, smart without being dressy and still with plenty of nooks and quiet corners. Service is quick and friendly and the food good. My ploughman's lunch had locally made cheese, real ham off the bone and pickled onions. It was beautifully served on a wooden board with an array of salad and fresh bread, it's a proper ploughman's lunch. Delicious.

We arrived without a reservation and it was very busy , as we had a dog with us there were only the bar area tables , we asked and they very kindly accommodated us we sat and waited outside for a table to come free and it was definately worth it the roast was superb , I had lamb and it was a good size took a doggy bag home for Frank he loved it too ...

Stumbled across this place having turned up too early for the Wightlink Ferry from Fishbourne to Portsmouth.
It turned out to be one of the most enjoyable breakfasts we’ve had in a long time. Very nicely presented ‘pub’ (Inn), exceptionally clean and comfortable. Four lovely breakfasts served by helpful staff - scrambled egg & smoked salmon with toast (x2) sauté potatoes with bacon red onion and poached egg, smoked haddock & poached egg. Quickly delivered, very reasonably priced and scrumptious. Couldn’t fault anything.
Based upon the surroundings (nice location, a little tucked away and quiet) service and quality of food, we will certainly try to return to sample the full dining menu. Would definitely consider an overnight stay if in the area again.
