Quiet cozy hotel

My husband and I stayed here last night. We had a suite on the top floor and it was so quiet and cozy we will definitely return. Great value, quick walk to town and super clean. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.
Well located good value

We stayed in a 2 level suite with the bedroom ( 2 queen beds) downstairs and the living / kitchen upstairs.
A buffet breakfast was provided- the kids loved the waffle station so we didn't use the kitchen facilities at all.
We ate at Chillis restaurant one night- food value and the quality was good.
The only issue with the unit was the stairs were very steep and getting the luggage downstairs to the bedroom was very challenging- so we ended up leaving the suitcases in the living area. We appreciated the extra space this unit offered - way better than 4 people being squashed in a traditional hotel room.
The pool area was great, and this hotel was well located to walk to the main restaurants at night ( ten minutes).
I would stay here again - the facilities were very good. Recommended.
Girls weekend in a 2 room suite

Stayed here in a 2 bedroom suite (4 dbl beds) chose the Fox due to what they could accommodate in the room as well as what the floor plans noted on their website.
The floor plans do depict the amenities accurately However they are extremely deceiving as to the space in the room.
The suite is extremely narrow and cramped I was so disappointed when we got into the room. In the kitchen area one could barely pass by another. Stairs to the basement bedroom as well were narrow and a little steep.
Overall room was clean
If your staying with more than 4 you’ll need to request more towels as the room only has enough for that and not the 8 the room can hold.
Hot Tub area looked amazing but was too hot to completely sit in. Sat on edge with legs in only.
Continental breakfast that was included was good and the bus passed that are provided were a fantastic touch & well used as the bus stops right outside the hotel
Motel at a Hotel Price

I was looking for a mid price hotel to stay in for 4 nights that was walking distance to the main area in Banff. From the photos and reviews, the Fox Hotel looked like it fit this category. I booked the hotel through the TripAdvisor website using the getaroom booking company. I booked a room with 2 double beds. On checking into my room, I realised there was only one bed. I went back to the front desk and showed them my printed booking for a 2 bed room. I was told that I had to call Getaroom.com because it was “their problem, not ours.” I had already prepaid for the 4 nights and the Fox would not upgrade me. Check-in at the Fox is at 4 pm and it was after 4 and no-one was answering the phone at getaroom.com so we had to make do with a queen bed and a fold-out love seat which is basically child-size and was very unfomfortable to sleep on.
The queen bed room is barely big enough for 2 people. Luckily we weren’t skiing because I don’t know how we would have fit in any ski gear. We had to place one suitcase in front of the wardrobe, thereby making us unable to use the wardrobe, and one suitcase in front of the bathroom door. Those 2 spots are the only extra space in the room when the fold-out love seat is folded out.
Even worse is the motel design of the hotel where the walkways to get to your room are on the outside. We had people walking past our window at all hours of the night. Also, our front door had a 5 foot panel of glass in it. Having the glass window and glass door meant no sound insulation. We could hear eveyone on the floor coming home throughout the evening from voices to doors shutting. We had to keep the blinds on the window and door closed all the time otherwise everyone on our floor would be able to see us in the room.
You can get rooms which have windows that face the other side of the building which would not have this problem.
Also, there’s no fridge in the room, nor microwave so you’re going to have to eat out every day.
WiFi is free but dropped out frequently and I was only using it to check weather and emails.
Breakfast is included. If you like waffles, you’re in for a treat because there’s a waffle maker. Otherwise I’d advise you stick to toast because the muffins were inedible and the fridge-cold hard-boiled eggs were pretty bad too. Banff food is quite expensive so I would advise to try to make do with this free breakfast.
The highlight of my stay in this “hotel” would be the hot pool. It really was as nice as the photos show it to be. The cave feel to it helped add to the relaxating atmosphere. The towels supplied for the hot pool were the size of a hand towel, just another reminder that this hotel is basically a motel.
Very Comfortable Banff Experience

Stayed here with my family while we attended the Banff Mountain Film Festival. Loved the mountain decor and feel of the hotel. We rented a suite which gave us lots of room. The beds were pretty comfortable and the kitchenette was large. The staff were accommodating and friendly. The only quirk to our stay was that our bathroom didn't have a shower curtain when we arrived but the front desk sorted that out quickly. The cave themed hot tub was very cool. The free breakfast was pretty average. The larger room was a bit pricey but we really appreciated the extra room that it gave us.
