We spent two nights at Gables whilst attending a family wedding in the area. We had a really pleasant stay in this beautiful house in a lovely setting. The hosts Angus & Claire made us more than welcome.

Booked a last minute weekend away for me and the wife and after reading the rave reviews on the Gables luxury B&B I couldn't believe they had a vacancy for our weekend.
Just a few miles from Berwick upon tweed in a tranquil spot lies this beautiful old vicarage with plenty of private parking.
As we pulled up we were greeted by our host Angus definitely the nicest B&B owner I've ever met just a lovely bloke that just couldn't do enough for you anything just wasn't any trouble. You can tell this business is his passion and he and his family made their home ours, a super quality property with lovely antique furniture throughout its like going back in time but kept spotlessly clean.
Our room "the tweed" was huge furnished with beautiful antique furniture and one of the biggest beds I've ever seen! Comfy too!
Their is a large on suite with large bath tub and separate shower all spotlessly clean loads of hot water and lovely towels.
For a large old house the room had a lovely warm feeling to it!
Nice tea and coffee tray with cakes too! Flat screen tv if you want it.
Angus cooks a super breakfast and you can tell all the produce is high quality and nothing is skimped on.
What I liked is the relaxed way that Angus and his family run their home and it's a credit to them.
Definitely the best B&B we've stayed at and look forward to returning in the future.

This house is large and full of character, decorated in a style fitting with the age in which it was built. Very tastefully done.
The host, Angus is super friendly, and takes the time to tailor the breakfasts to each guest's needs. Nothing was too much trouble. We liked him instantly, and enjoyed chatting to him.
Our room was huge compared to many B&B's we've stayed in, and the antique Italian bed really enormous, and very comfortable.
Close to Berwick and Lindisfarne, which we visited while in the area.

Sylvia and I spent a very enjoyable two weeks at The Gables in early August. The house and room (The Till) were lovely and its location allows easy access to both coastal and inland areas. The peace and quiet, superb breakfasts and Angus' encyclopaedic knowledge of the area make The Gables a wonderful place to stay.

We've stayed in many lovely places but The Gables was particularly memorable! Beautifully appointed. Lovely grounds. Unusually congenial host (Angus). We've remarked several times that we wish we had planned a longer stay and hope to return.
