What People are saying

Ordinary room but great food

Dave M on 23/11/2017 02:22

Stayed overnight whilst working locally. An expensive pub room ($79) for what you get. Truck and traffic noise kept me awake as I was in one of the front rooms. Plus no fridge upstairs to store your food in over-night. The compensation to some extent was the food in the bistro which was very good.

My advice for workers to is stay at one of the local motels but come here to the pub for a feed.

Overpriced for a room above a pub.

SusieM333 on 09/10/2017 00:01

Due to the Bathurst V8 weekend Blackheath was as close as we could get to Bathurst. I am unsure if $159.00 for a room with ensuite was inflated due to the V8 race however I was expecting a little more than what we got.
TV did not work and we were told that they stole the cable for another room. We were offered a partial refund.
Only overhead lighting that was extremely bright. Bedside lamps would have been good.
Bed linen was clean.
Tea/coffee making with disposable paper cups.
And yes, it is a room above a pub so it is noisy.

Local eats

Late lunch of local pie and nachos. All reasonable prices and big serves. A place to grab a casual drink, stay warm and have a feed with the locals. I wouldn't recommend the pie, quite a few chewy bits... nice sauce though and they happily gave me a salad in place of chips.

Comfortable double ensuite room with spacious ensuite

Michael C on 06/06/2017 10:25

Room was sufficient for one solo traveller. Depending on how much you and your travel partner take with you, the room size may be adequate or a little on the small side.
Double bed was comfortable and linen was clean.
Room was centrally heated, which made it very comfortable as I'm not used to the chilly Blue Mountains winter conditions.
There was a storage area for hanging clothes, which I found handy.
There was no bar fridge, but I didn't really have any need for that.
Being an older building the power points were in unusual places. Mildly inconvenient, but not a real bother.
Ensuite was spacious, toilet had a really nice view which I appreciated.
Shower water was lovely and hot and big shower head for generous amount of water.
Built in store area in shower for your personal items (I didn't really use it, but you may find this handy).
Towels were in good condition and felt very crisp and clean.
Invited friends up to have a look around the room and they all cooed with appreciation too so I know I wasn't the only one pleased with this room. One even decided to give the toilet facilities a workout and raved about the loo with the view to all who would listen.

So much room for improvement

markmW8037NB on 24/05/2017 12:42

Have been coming here dinner with friends for at least the last six years annually. It started well and showed so much promise in the beginning but from then on it seemed to have peaked and each year the standards have decreased both in service and food quality which is so disappointing for the potential it could have delivered.

The last experience has been unfortunate with service almost with don't care attitude, so that's it I am afraid and we'll be spending our money elsewhere in Blackheath.
