One always have a minimum expectation from a 5 star hotel in an important metro. I am happy to say, that this place more than fulfiled my expectations !
There is hardly any area, where I can find fault with this place.
The rooms are great. They are suitably large and well maintained. Views from the rooms are also, as good as it can get in Calcutta.
The service is very prompt and the staff are helpful and corteous.
All ammenities worked smoothly.
The location is supeb. One can access all areas of calcutta from here. And, its also not too far away from the airport.
Finally the icing on the cake, is the EXCELLENT resturant !!! If you are looking for authentic and delicious Bengali cusine, then this is the place to go !
I had a very pleasurable stay here, and wish to come back here again, when i visit calcutta next !

Visited Taj Gateway in oct 17, first impression was refreshing to have people with smile and welcome drink on board, 2 min check in at late night, rooms were clean and cozy, selected smoking room and impressed with having nos. Of air purifier on floor it shows great concern for customers, our event was there and found out of the box support from all the team, the GM of hotel personally visited and ensure all facility, food was mind blowing tastey, our customer enjoyed alot , the meet was a success,,,, thanks to Team Gayeway..!!!!! Surely coming back

It was a short trip to Kolkata, booked a room in Gateway because I did not get room in other hotels regularly booked by the travel team. Glad I did that because it was a wonderful stay in Gateway. I was fortunate enough that I got an upgrade, I got a suite with its own living room, bedroom and a huge bathroom. The hotel was super clean, the odour/smell was great, service was fantastic and food was awesome too. No reasons to complain at all, and if you are not particular about the location, then this is a great option to stay in Kolkata. I would choose this again. This is my second Gateway experience after Gateway Chikmagalur, and I have had a 5-star experience both times. I am loving Gateway!

This property has been operating for last 3-4 years and already has received quite a buzz. The property is located in the southern part of Kolkata and is 45mins drive from the airport. The rooms are are well decorated and the restaurants offer quite a diverse cuisine. The roof top pool and gym offers a great view of the Kolkata skyline

I stayed here for 5 nights during my latest visit to Kolkata. Each and every staff member at this hotel is very friendly and they try to go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. As a woman traveling alone I will definitely recommend this hotel. The food was excellent. The chef personally came out to inquire if everything was alright. The dinner buffet was scrumptious. The hotel is very safe and there are multiple guards at the entrance. They even check the cars that come inside the property as well as all personal belongings are put through an x-ray machine just like at the airport. The room was very clean with a large king size bed and a sparking clean nice sized bathroom. The housekeeping staff came twice a day to clean and to turn down the sheets for the night and always inquired if I needed anything. Such excellent service can be expected from the Taj group of hotels. Keep up the great job and thank you to all the staff who work there. I will definitely stay there again.
