Amazing Ploughman's Lunch

We ended up at The George purely by chance. We had seen an advert for the Brailes Fete and arrived in the village a little early. We decided to call in and have a drink and when we saw the food that had been delivered to the table next to us we decided to have lunch. Having not seen a Ploughman's Lunch on a menu for a long time we ordered this sharing platter. It was beautifully presented and there was plenty of both Stilton and Cheddar Cheese, salad and pickles all served on a lovely platter. Highly recommended although can't comment on the accommodation as we didn't stay
Perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon

Sat out in the garden on a sunny Sunday afternoon, great setting for a chilled one. Then the lamb roast dinner was the perfect cure to my hangover. The salted caramel profiteroles also looked delicious, gutted they'd ran out.
Food good wouldn't recommend a stay over

We stayed here for a wedding nearby and left after checking in advising them where we were going, they asked for our key for a fire safety measure so they knew who was in and out the building.
Upon returning at 1:30pm we found we were locked out of the hotel and couldn't get back in. The staff had not advised us of this.
In the morning the staff were very apologetic and we had a delicious breakfast and sat in the beautiful garden.
Then managers/owner refused to refund us for the night stay as we apparently should've advised them we would be staying out until late - despite us telling them we were off to a wedding.
Most of the staff were helpful and pleasant - there were a couple who were unprofessional/patronising and incredible rude.
The food and surroundings were beautiful - however I definitely wouldn't advise a stay over and I will not be returning.
Very Highly Reccommended

We visited The George for Sunday lunch and to meet other members of my family for one of our irregular get-togethers. We had a wonderful, happy experience. The welcome was warm; the attention from the staff - just right; good selection of excellent beers; and the food was first-class. The pub itself is lovely and obviously lovingly maintained as a traditional country pub - but with modern facilities such as good, clean loos. Excellent all round.
Great breakfast

One night stay. Good clean room, friendly and helpful staff. Good selection of Hook Norton Beers. Good quality ingredients (bacon and sausage) made the full English breakfast really enjoyable. Would recommend this inn.
