What People are saying

Super friendly staff!

Ciara M on 22/11/2017 17:00

Just back from a one night stay in the Gibson. We stayed as we were attending a concert in the 3 arena. The location is perfect, two minutes walk from the Arena and the Luas located right outside the door!
The room was bright and spacious, spotless and the beds were so comfortable! Had a fantastic sleep! No noise from the corridor or rooms next door which you sometimes expect in a hotel.
Patryk checked us in when we arrived and I genuinely have never encountered a more polite receptionist! He was a gentleman and could not have been more helpful! Nothing was too much trouble for him he truly is an asset to your team!
Thank you for such a lovely stay! :-)

Concert Night

Stayed in the hotel during the night of the killers concert in Dublin. First of all the location is fantastic if attending concerts in the 3 Arena and the Hotel is clearly built for it. Parking as well is extremely convenient which cannot be said for many hotels in Dublin!
Throughout the Hotel the background music was mostly Killers music which I felt was a nice touch as it added to the Hotels atmosphere and buzz of the night to come.

The Hotel is sleek, elegant and so modern, by far the best hotel I have stayed in Dublin in all my experiences.
Usually Dublin Hotels are carbon copies of one another and I always get the feeling that if you’re not in a suit you’re not important to them.
However, the Gibson caters perfectly for people looking to get away to Dublin for night, whether they’re tourists new to the city or locals going on a shopping break, which honestly I find extremely rare in Dublin.

There is nothing negative to say about the staff however they were very quiet. In a hotel where people are coming to enjoy a few nights away as opposed to making long distance conference calls I feel the staff should engage more with the customers.
Our check in and dinner ran perfectly but even a small “How is everyone keeping tonight?” or “Are you traveling far/Is this your first time in Ireland?” Just to make the guests feel a little more at home.

The room decor was amazing, the use of floating furniture and lighting made the room feel more spacious and relaxed. It honestly felt like a bedroom as opposed to a hotel room. The one comment I would make would be on the carpets in the rooms and hallways, they had seen better days.
This is a very minor issue which didn’t dampen my stay at all however if they were a bit fresher it would have added to the decor.

The theme throughout the Hotel was gorgeous, from the colour scheme and decor to the “Rockstar” image it all fit together seamlessly.

The one complaint I would have would be with the pizza we ordered for room service at about 11pm that night.
As a Hotel worker myself I completely understand that the chefs would be gone home and that it would be more that likely be the night porter would be making the food.
However, I expected that in a hotel used to people coming back from shopping sprees and late night concerts the food would have been better that what we received and at the price it cost.
In total €21 for a basic 10” pepperoni pizza including the €4 tray charge. I didn’t question the price during ordering, it was reasonable however once the food arrived and we tasted it we were left disappointed. Needless to say the pizza was left uneaten.

However, this was such a small part in such a wonderful stay. I will 100% without a doubt be booking here again, best hotel in Dublin so far!

Called in for a drink in the bar before a concert. Ordered a G&T and asked did they have Dingle Gin?? Received a stern abrupt NO!! Asked which Gins they did have and was given 3 names. Asked for one of them and asked for a certain tonic which the reply was also an abrupt NO!! G& T shoved at us poorly presented and I asked for a craft beer to which I received the only word the rudest bar person in Ireland could shout!! You guessed it .. NOOOOO.

We left!! Went to the Green Room around the corner and great atmosphere and full range of drinks.
Will never darken the door of the Gibson again.

Good hotel slightly out of the centre

We stayed here for a couples weekend in Dublin.
The hotel is at the end of the Luas (tram) which runs every 10mins or so into the city. It's very convenient and cheap which makes up for the location being approx 25-30min walk from the town.
We did do the walk which was lovely alongside the river on the Saturday morning looking for somewhere to have breakfast as we decided not to stay in the hotel.
The rooms in the hotel were lovely, very clean and VERY comfy beds.
All the staff were lovely and the bar, although lacking bit of atmosphere, was well stocked and we were served quickly despite it being busy.
I'd recommend this hotel as a good base to explore from.

Disappointed

Four of us stayed there the night of the killers. It is very convenient to the 3 arena. We found the main reception area & bar, particularly the residents bar very cold. We couldn't stay there. Quality of pints of lager very poor. Food was nice. Most but not all of the staff were pleasant. Beds were comfortable , although one of our pillow cases had a rip in the centre of it. Over all, we were disappointed with our stay there.
