The hotel was very nice. All the employees were kind and helpful. The room was clean upon arrival and requests were handled immediately. Location was fantastic. The hotel is within walking distance to many of the main attractions of the city. Overall a very good experience.

I stayed at the Grand Hotel as I had a corporate event at the location. When i arrived (after traveling from 5 states, 4 cab rides, 3 plane rides), all I wanted to do was relax. I hung up my clothes and went to the bathroom and turned on the sink faucet. Next thing i know, my socks are wet and I'm standing a buddle. I called and someone came up and said it was going to take a bit of time to fix. I asked if i could have another room (see above - very tired). After leaving and returning, i was given another room, and then carried my own stuff down to the new room. Not a great start.
I pulled the curtains up and it was dark - mind you it was only 6pm. There was an office building located directly near the window. I could see the contents on the desks in the office building. So very close. Needless to say, the blinds stayed closed for the duration of my stay. I felt like I was in a cave.

We stayed at the Kimpton Grand the first week in June and we'll stay somewhere else the next time we visit Minneapolis. We have a 2 year old who was looking forward to using the pool. The pool is part of the Lifetime Fitness and is absolutely freezing. Definitely a lap pool for exercising only. Our room needed some attention, but it wasn't urgent and we were too busy to alert the staff until checkout. The vent in the living room looked moldy/dirty, the chair in the bedroom was torn, and the bathroom fan didn't work, we didn't receive housekeeping, and everything seemed dingy. I understand it's an old building, but for the price it was disappointing. When I checked out, I let the front desk person know my concerns. She shrugged her shoulders and said my room was prepaid and there wasn't anything she could do. Isn't this a four star hotel? Better luck next time I guess.

This beautiful property is convenient to all kinds of downtown Minneapolis sites. The ambiance is of old world elegance with a modern sensitivity to travelers' needs. The people at the front desk were especially helpful in finding particular places we wanted to visit outside downtown as well. A very nice experience

My favorite hotel in the Minneapple. When I arrived, I was greeted with a bottle of champers and a welcome cheese plate as a frequent guest of the Kimpton chain. Nicely sized room for one person, with a huge and lovely bath tub and separate shower. Excellent bath products. Nice happy hour with a specialty drink. Friendly bartenders in the lobby. Just a delight!
