Hacienda Santa Rosa offers a great experience for a pleasure luxury traveler, with nice and spacious accommodations, great service and unique scenery. Besides, it offers an outstanding culinary and spa experience.

We stayed for 4 nights recently and I would recommend this hacienda for a once in a lifetime opportunity to stay in a converted and renovated hacienda. This place is stunning, magnificent gardens, huge trees sheltering the buildings and keeping things cool. What a fantastic place to spend a few nights. So peaceful on the edge of a small village but in the middle of the wilderness. Stay for at least 2 nights to fully appreciate the experience.
The staff are so friendly and the service is super efficient. The waiters have been really well trained.
This place would be a botanists delight as there is a massive garden full of plants and trees, labelled and sectioned according to their use. They do not make enough of this.
You can borrow bikes and cycle around the nearby villages.
We stayed in the Casa Maya which was wonderful. A small thatched cottage in the grounds with a secluded hot tub outside.
So why only 4 out of 5? Because the food in the restaurant is not good enough. If you are paying these high prices for an outstanding stay then I think the standard of food should be much better. Whilst there is an extensive menu there is nothing outstanding about the cooking. Although this hacienda is out in the wilds it is only 1 hour from Merida and they have some exceptional chefs there, so no excuse for not having some here. The included breakfast is poor. Don’t pay for it, there is a better selection on the menu and cheaper.
However we really enjoyed our stay.

Staying in this renovated hacienda is a hotel experience that will stay with you forever. I highly recommend it even though you will wonder if you are driving in the right direction when trying to find it.
The approach to the hacienda is through a small town. Look in the doorways and you will see hammocks in every space.
I loved the way the hacienda was in the country yet has been renovated to a high level. The bathrooms, in particular, are well appointed. Since this is a Starwood hotel, all amenities are provided including robes and slippers.
Some of the features I enjoyed most about the property were the nice clean pool where you can relax, eat a snack, and swim. I also enjoyed the original details of the buildings such as high ceilings and original wood shutters on the windows.
We stayed at 2 of the Starwood haciendas - the other being Uayamon - and the food is far better at this site. They have an espresso machine and you can get a strong coffee in the morning.
Service is gracious and welcoming - even if English wasn't always spoken. The room and grounds are clean. Mattress, pillows and linens are all nice.
This was a fantastic hotel experience. Maybe it doesn't have all the luxuries and comforts but given its location in the middle of the Yucatan and the history of the building, it is a really great place to stay.

We visit the Hacienda in our way back from Celestun. It is amazing how it was restored and great to see the support it also brings to the local arts and crafts.
It for sure will be an excellent option to spend some days in a luxury but eco-friendly and very old location or as we did to have dinner and to visit the area.

This is a luxury level hotel , way off of the beaten path, about 80 k from Merida that is worth the trouble. I actually thought I was lost three times, that's how on a road less traveled this place is.
The staff are wonderful, the room is excellent, the facilities are quite good, There are all sorts of activities, the jungle they are building, bit by bit , and there are hot tubs, and a nice pool. There really isn't a town it's more a very tiny little village just before you see the property. I suspect many living in that tiny village are employees . The only town is a few miles away and it's not big as you know big. So you would mostly stay here which was fine with me.
