Q Hotels always come up to scratch in our view and the Hampshire Court did not disappoint on this weekend. Great facilities, rooms and food and staff very helpful in all aspects. Looking for a weekend break somewhere different the availability of canoeing on the Basingstoke Canal and the facilities of the Hampshire Court Hotel made our minds up. Peoples reaction to a weekend break in Basingstoke is predictable but everything was perfect with plenty to see and do in the area. Not a boutique romantic hotel but very acceptable.

Just returned fro a 2 night autumn break. All the staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. A very clean and well run hotel. Food was very good although I felt the wine list was limited and expensive but that aside other drinks were usual hotel prices. Indoor tennis courts were good but make sure that if you are going away for a few days of tennis you check courts are available as the hotel does have block bookings for tournaments. This place has some problems. We had a voucher - it took the staff 10 minutes to work out what the voucher made us eligible for. We ordered a wine - they didn’t have it. Menus and wine list dirty with drink rings; only one table available not cluttered with dirty plates or napkins (not busy). Food arrived cold - sent back - came back half hot half reheated and dry - sent back again. Wine by the glass was off - open too long - sent back. Dirty glasses not cleared. To be fair, the food was finally swapped for fish and chips, which was good and we were comped some drinks. The salad was good and the wine list is varied and interesting. The manager listened, staff were understanding and want to be consistently better. The kitchen is on the other side of the hotel so order salad or deep fried and you will be fine. Restaurant prices, bar setting. Unfortunately, the worst place I have eaten in for quite some time. In my experience this is all easily solved with a wet cloth, leadership and training. I tried to give this two stars because they put most of it right but the clincher is that we ate separately and left early writing off £15 of credit remaining on our voucher rather than risk further disappointment. First time in my life I’ve ever passed on free cheese.

I went to the Hampshire Court Hotel for my birthday in October. My husband had booked early check in (12pm) but when we arrived the room wasn't ready, which didn't bode well. However there was no issue with refunds.
My husband booked a package which included spa treatments and lunch. We went down to the spa in the afternoon. We booked head and back massages, which were very good. The spa was absolutely beautiful. We didn't use the pool or gym but both looked nice.
The buffet lunch was wonderful. Excellent choice of hot and cold food, plus lovely dessert.
Later in the afternoon I went back to the spa to have my nails done. Another lovely and professional treatment.
We booked for dinner in the hotel at 7pm. The food was reasonably priced but we found it quite bland and disappointing.
We booked a premier suite which was very luxurious and modern. There was a bottle of prosecco and a birthday card for me on arrival, which I thought was a lovely touch. The bed was super comfortable and at night the hotel was very quiet. The room was very clean.
Buffet breakfast in the morning was good, nice selection of pastries, full English, etc.
The package my husband booked was quite expensive but worth it for all the lovely little touches. Definitely worth a visit

On arrival the staff were welcoming with plenty of car parking.
The ground floor is taken up with public rooms: Spa / pools / restaurant / bar / meeting rooms, with bedrooms on the first floor above these.
Rooms were clean and tidy and well laid out with in-room kettle and supplies.
bathroom was spacious with both bath and shower.
after checked and getting settled, you go and check-in with the spa reception where you are issued with robe and slippers for the duration of your stay.
Once again, this staff set are welcoming and happy and the technicians are excellent with the treatments - VERY relaxing.
spent most of the 2 days round the pool in between treatments, dipping in and out of pool / sauna and steam room.
Breakfast is a help yourself with fry-up / cereals and fruit available.
Lunch was nice with 4 choices but Dinner was lovely.
the building is in a quadrangle with decking and artificial 'river' of slate in the centre which was also relaxing.
there is also a nice shopping area within walking distance.
will look at returning here in the near future.
