Don't even consider this as a last resort. Just stay home!!!

The only place there is any air conditioning is in the lobby and in the rooms. The common areas, the breakfast room and the hallways are not air conditioned. When I checked in at 8:20pm. I found the air conditioner had been turned off all day (this is mid August in Florida) and the room was close to 90 degrees. I switched on the air conditioner and it worked but everything in the room was so hot that the next morning the bathroom floor was still very warm. After I turned down the bed I found the mattress to be extremely hot and couldn't sleep until 02:30 in the morning due to the heat. The breakfast buffet (A very bad joke) featured fresh muffins complete with a large black bug crawling over them, biscuits & gravy, toast and cold cereal. The restaurant was so bad that it is closed and they say they have no plans to reopen..As I was taking my bags into the hotel a fight broke out in the parking area between two men who were part of a large, loud and somewhat drunken crowd. All in all I would rather have slept in my car. It would have been much more comfortable.
Extremely rude staff member - just unbelievable attitude!

15 to 20 of us stay in the area this time each year and we thought we would check out the Clewiston Inn with a view to perhaps using it in the next few years.
Four of us dropped by on Thursday 23rd February and it was clear that the Inn was undergoing a degree of smart ending up (much needed).
Nonetheless, we went into reception to have a look and the lady behind the counter said they were only open for residents.
We were told in no uncertain terms that we could not look at anything as work was to be done and we understood why.
However, she was extremely curt with us and made it clear that we had to leave - not even wanting us in reception (the doors to it from outside were wide open).
We were all shocked by the fact that she made no attempt to make us feel welcome and explain what was going in in a polite fashion - instead just wanting us to leave and not caring to be nice about it.
When we got back to our accommodation we found that another car full of our friends had visited the Inn a little earlier than us and she had been just as rude to them.
I have travelled to almost 200 countries/islands/states and never in all my years have I encountered such a disgusting attitude towards potential future customers.
Clearly, we won't be using the Clewiston Inn in the future as a result of this and I just hope that management becomes aware of this situation and takes the appropriate action.
It may be of course that the lady concerned IS management - and if so, she is sure to find revenue will be commensurate with the way guests are treated!
Glad we didn't stay

We called into this Inn with a view to staying overnight. We were met in reception by a rude obnoxious woman, who was eating a bag of chips and slouching across the desk. We asked if we could get a coffee and were told rudely 'No we don't serve coffee'. When we questioned her rudeness to us she said get out. Other people staying in the hotel looked at us in amazement. Not sure if it was because we were English or she was just hopeless at her job but she doesn't deserve to be working with the public. This woman created a terrible impression of this hotel and does not deserve her job. We decided to drive back to our home in Orlando.
Inn has fallen on hard times

I'm sorry to say that the Clewiston Inn has clearly fallen on hard times. They have stopped serving lunch and dinner, and the complimentary breakfast is bleak at best. The beautiful antiques that once graced the facility are now tattered and worn. And the bathrooms are in desperate need of serious maintenance and improvements, as evidenced by having to stand in ankle-deep water while showering. While the staff is friendly and accommodating, I would not recommend an overnight stay.
dirty nasty liars here
