Helped organize a conference here and stayed nearly a week. It was perfect from start to finish. Excellent hotel not just for tourists, but conferences.
Everyone raved about the hotel. Didn't hear a single negative complaint. They were all amazed at the history and grandeur of the hotel made all the better by the beautiful ballroom we used for plenaries with a perfect adjacent foyer we used for exhibit and buffet lines. Conference food was excellent including service and help with special dietary needs. One of our servers, I think Tracy, worked here even before the renovation and remembers when the hotel lobby skylight had been painted black during the war but now wonderfully restored.
Can't say enough about the service. From each staff interaction be it check in, restaurant, bar, in the hotel hallways ... all with a smile and professionalism.
And we had a number of breakout rooms with windows including probably the best one with wood paneled walls. Just one of the many examples of the beautiful features of the hotel. Oh .. and we had an amazing room rate and overall conference F&B came in under budget.
Lastly - was able to have a corner parlour room as an upgrade per our contract and it would be worth the splurge for individual travel. Lots of room including a double sink bathroom with tub and shower. As a couple other have posted, my only complaint would be the L'occitane amenities both because there are plenty of US made options but it was also a bit overpowering and dried my skin. But that is nit picking.
As for Spokane as a conference location, that was the only drawback. Not because of the city, but the cost and time to get here. My airfare from the midwest was $1100+ and others had the same issue. Multiple flight legs. Our attendance took a hit. But everyone that came loved the city and was so glad they attended. This should get better soon as I see United is adding a Chicago nonstop which would have been perfect for me and I hope helps with airfare.
That said ... this is a very special place in an equally wonderful city so would enjoy coming back not for work just to enjoy it all again.

We had one day to spend in Spokane and this hotel was the perfect place to stay. It is walking distance to Riverfront Park where you can see the beautiful waterfalls and huge radio flyer red wagon! Close to shopping centers, unique shops, and restaurants.
The bed was extremely comfortable ( great after long flight) and the bath area was awesome with both shower and tub. My favorite French toiletries are here -- gel, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion- all in pumps.
Try the soft peanut brittle available in the gift shop. It is more like peanut butter fudge but we enjoyed it and bought some to bring home. Don't forget to look at display on Bing Crosby with his personal items.

If you have never stayed in this absolutely beautiful and historic hotel when you have come to Spokane, then you must do it at least once!
The rooms are big and spacious, bathrooms wonderful and service above par! Where else can you find a historic doorman who has worked for a hotel for 70 years and is still there!
My only regret this time is that they no longer have nightly "turn down" service. That consisted of turning the sheets down, putting on classical music and leaving a specialty peanut brittle on the pillow!
We were quite disappointed. Evidently, they felt offering free wifi made up for that extra touch they used to do.
They need to rethink that decision.....

The historic Davenport exceeded my expectations in many aspects .
First the building itself speaks to the history of spokane . The hotel has amazing lobby and conference rooms that are beautifully decorated with time stamp from the early 20th century . The hallways have many memorabilia from famous people who visited and stayed at the hotel such as Amelia Earhart and queen of Romania .Make sure to visit the different hallways and conference rooms which have pictures depicting historic events.
Despite its history , the hotel has been renovated carefully and is impeccably clean and has all amenities needed . The rooms are spacious and the bathroom is large and has huge walk in shower .
Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the food is amazing . Make sure you get to try the brunch buffet they have . Highly recommended .
The only negative feedback I have is the quality of sleep as the bed is not as comfortable as you would expect . While we did not visit with kids , I have seen rooms that are suitable for families and are large and comfortable for a family of 4-5 .
Note that the Davenport has a newer tower which is across the corner from the historic tower and tends to be cheaper for room rates . If you want to save few dollars you could stay there and literally within 2 min walking be at the historic tower ( completed 1914 ) visit the lobby and other points of interest .
Would definitely come back again !

Well situated with a long tradition, this hotel delivers everything you expect. From the moment we came in the drive way the Valet was prompt, the front desk welcoming and before we knew it our luggage was delivered to our room. We were totally satisfied with everything, especially the attention and service in the dining room. Highly recommended!
