Recently refurbished with great taste and care it was light and airy whilst retaining its 'olde worlde' charm, lots of historic photos of days gone by at the Inn, warm and welcoming atmonsphere. I enjyed the lamb rump and my friend who normally eats like a sparrow wolfed hers down and we were then set for the wonderfully executed lemon posset, how you can get so much lemon flavour into something so creamy and light without the whole thing separating is a mystery to me. We were looked after beautifully by the attentive staff and the host kept himself busy stoking the wood burners and chatting to everyone. It was worth the hour and a half drive from home and yes we would certainly go again and next time we will book a room so we can sample the impresive wine list. Chatting to the gent at the next table who was staying over he told me the rooms had also been refurbed to a great standard and were large clean and comfortable.

Tuesday night is “Girlie Night” and my friend and I decided to do a bit of a road trip! Driving from Frome we headed in the generally direction of Minehead......searching for somewhere that took our fancy for our meal and we stopped at The Hood Arms in Kilve - and we are so glad we did! Very welcoming! The food was absolutely delicious. My friend and I both decided on lamb rump. The food was beautifully presented and the lamb just melted in the mouth, the dauphinois potatoes and vegetables were, well, delicious! This was followed by desert of lemon posset which was sublime!
Would highly recommend......

We booked for a night and everything was just right. We were welcomed on arrival, shown to a warm and comfortable room, then seated at a table next to the woodburner for a delicious meal. We slept and breakfasted very well, and were so impressed that we returned for Sunday roast after a long walk on the Quantocks. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the price was right, and it's one of those rare places where we said to each other, we shall certainly be back.

We were all individually warmly greeted by the owner. He was attentive throughout our evening and individually thanked us all as we left. The food was extra ordinary delicious not only was there plenty to choose from but when it arrived we were all jealous of each others meal. For hungry farmers to be so impressed with their steaks says a lot about this establishment, and where do I start about puds omg the Lemon Possett was just to die for I was so glad I had the last one. Will def be back again!!

We were staying nearby and headed here for a dinner following a recommendation.
We weren’t disappointed. I had fish and chips and it was lovely, the haddock was huge and was really nicely done.
My wife had a steak and she was raving about it, lovely and well cooked.
I then had the chocolate desert with salted caramel sauce, and it would rate as one of the best deserts I’ve ever had, stunning. My wife had the lemon posset and said that was lovely too.
The staff were all very (genuinely) happy and the service was great. They allow dogs in the ‘bar’ area which was a very pleasant area which is a real bonus, even sorting a corner table so the dogs would have more room (we have 3).
A very enjoyable meal with great service, great atmosphere and great it’s dog friendly. Couldn’t have asked for more.
