We really enjoyed or stay in this quirky hotel with beds like clouds. It was conveniently located and good for the price. It was clean and the staff were helpful. Our only complaint was that the air con was quite noisy.

The first moment I saw that charming hotel,EVERYTHING appealed to me : The Surfer -Rock’n Roll-Yoga-artsy Vibe made me feel I wanted to move in right away. My room, more an entire apartment ,was cozy and spacious ,a cool place to chill and let the good times roll...A few steps-you are at the ocean. A few blocks there’s public transportation to Downtown,venice or Malibu. Just 5 minutes will take you to Santa Monica Pier.
Surrounded by a huge selection of restaurants and bars,Hotel California is really the place to be.Soon it will have a new name : Sea Blue Hotel,but everything else will just remain the same. Now that I have found this great place I am even planning more visits to LA.
The staff is super friendly and helpful in every way,starting with the GM Mari, Carter and Alexis.The place is clean the yard has an enchanted vibe to it with beautiful flowers and lounge chairs to hang.

This was me and my husband's first visit to Santa Monica, just passing thru, and decided to stay the night. Anthony, at the front desk, checked us in and was very accommodating, pleasant, and efficient (EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE)! The room was very charming & clean. The bed was super comfortable! The location was very convenient to the beach (walking distance) and to many restaurants. If we come back to Santa Monica, we definitely will be staying at The Hotel California (which I heard soon will be SeaBlue Hotel) ... a little advice, keep the name Hotel California!!!

Hotel California (soon to be renamed SeaBlue, which I think is a mistake because Hotel CA is the perfect name for it!) is a charming, funky place. Every employee, Alexis in particular, was helpful and friendly. If you are a person who likes everything shiny and new then this is not the place for you, but if you value a non-chain hotel with some character and soul, Hotel CA is great. Location simply cannot be beat, did not get in the car for 2 days. Love the old movie posters and album covers. A heads up to those who have never lived at the beach, there are unique challenges that come with being so close to the ocean, the mist, perpetual state of dampness, & salt can impact buildings and also cause increased wear and tear on interior furnishings and appliances but Hotel CA did NOT feel at all rundown and the room and linens were very clean.

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel California. The room was clean and had a great bungalow feel. The bed was super comfortable and clean . The water pressure at times was low but nothing that ever caused problems. Even though there is no A/C the room, we were very cool and I slept fine using the fans.(and I like my rooms cool while i sleep) . Alexis was an excellent host at the front desk, she and Carter went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. I would stay here again.
