Good location a few yards from metro station. The hotel is a little tired but work was ongoing to freshen it up. The work going did not disturb us at all. Guests receive a 20% discount on food and drinks which makes it very cheap. The food was some of the best we had in India.

Stayed here for a couple of nights very recently. The location (just some steps off MG Road and close to the metro) is ideal. Rooms, interiors and furnishings are old-ish. Passably clean. Apparently a leading hotel in previous decades, but not now and it shows. What was so jarring about this hotel was its treatment of our bill. We booked online and, upon check-in, were stunned to find another 18 percent added to our bill. Nonetheless, we paid. When I asked for a receipt for the itemized breakdown of the bill, the reception people refused to give me the list of charges they had just presented to me. Not even to photograph it for reference. They said they would just give a receipt upon checkout. I asked for it when the time came, but of course none was given. Shady, no?

We had been in this hotel while we are on our Keral tour. We found this hotel far away from the main city and more importantly this hotel is just 2 star with stupid house keeping and very bad service by the people working there. We experience very bad conditioned towels stinking like hell. We got long hair inside the pillow covers there were no hot water available through out 24 hours. we used tea kettle for heating the water for bath. Complained number of times regarding the issue but nothing happens. Though they give you the rooms free dont go there.

The International Hotel was one of the most prestigious hotel till late 1990's and several star hotels came up by 2000. While I was a kid I used to stay here with my parents and the food was also very famous then. Recently I stayed there for an official purpose with my friend and must say that it was really nostalgic, I remember every nuke and corner and must say that they have managed to maintain the hotel in the same manner even today. The service has to be improved from reception to the restaurant but I enjoyed the stay and food. Being in the heart of the town and now near the metro station it is convenient to move around. The room service and housekeeping were really good and the lunch has that old charm. Overall a good hotel to stay with family or friends.

A Big Nooo, is what I would say to a next visit to the hotel.
The staff are completely unaware of the details in the hotel. Our Room did not have a safety locker, and upon calling the Reception they were unaware of it. Upon check in we were informed that Breakfast is complimented from their side, but it the Morning when we went for breakfast it was charged to us. Breakfast choices not worth the money. Had to make repeated calls for clearance, laundry pick up. Laundry list and bag was not at all delivered even after repeated reminders. The front desk was confused with the opening times of their beauty clinic. Though the beauty clinic says for ladies, they don't have assigned ladies for it.
Request for a drinking glass and then see the fun. If you call Housekeeping they will ask you to call Room Service, and call Room Service they will ask you to call Housekeeping.
The only thing they were worried was when you will checkout from the hotel.
