This hotel is situated 2 blocks away from the Zhongshan Elementary MRT Station. There's a 7-eleven and Family Mart 1 block away.
Once my taxi arrived, the doorman and bellman were quick to help. Upon entry, I was greeted by the front desk for check in. The check in was smooth and quick, but because I have arrived early morning at 9AM, I needed to come back during regular check in hours at 3PM for my room. The staff are fluent in English, so ask away if you had any questions or need help translating to the taxi driver.
Coming back at 3PM, my keys were ready for pick up. For security purposes, a key card is needed to use the elevator. The elevator was quick and my luggage was already in the room. The room was nice and spacious as expected. The bathroom has everything needed. Toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, sewing kit, comb, q-tip, cotton pads, sanitary napkin, robes, and slippers.
The service was better than expected. Fruits are provided in the morning. Not at the lounge, but in your room. Housekeeping is on top of their game. And there's also another person who provides new towels late afternoon. Just in case you showered in the morning or afternoon and needed a new towel. This person also placed a new mat next to my bed and slippers each day. I never needed to open the lobby door myself and there's always one elevator waiting at the lobby.

We stayed for 4 nights at the end of our trip in Taiwan. We jumped in a taxi from Taipei Main Station which didn’t take too long. The reception process and check in was smooth. We were offered an upgrade to a corner suite for TWD1600 per night but declined. The room we were given was great, on the 11th floor with a view of the Grand Hotel in the distance. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was also delicious with a good selection, including an omelette station and non-standard coffee (decaf or cappuccino etc.) available if requested. The hotel is a short walk to the very efficient and cheap to use MRT. I agree with other reviewers that the staff were all exceptional and deserving of the recognition given.

Hotel conveniently located near MRT station and 7-eleven shops. Quiet neighbourhood. Staff are very professional, helpful and friendly - Thank you Danny, Vivian, Cody and Joyce, a few names I can remember. Housekeeping services are great. We had a really pleasant stay.

My wife and I stayed at the Landis for the first two nights following our arrival in Taiwan, and for one night just before we left. I speak no Mandarin, but the staff welcomed us wholeheartedly in Mandarin and English, and did their very best to make our stay comfortable. Our room was clean and well appointed, and meals served in the Brasserie in particular were of a very good standard. I was particularly impressed by the doorman who, upon our return to the hotel for our final night in Taiwan, smiled and said in English, 'Hello, Sir, and welcome back!' A nice touch!
By the way, if you choose to eat elsewhere than at the hotel, a very wide selection of restaurants is within very easy walking distance.
Overall, a very good experience.

The Landis Taipei is a great hotel mostly because of its fabulous staff! They were very welcoming and responsive throughout our stay. We had a couple issues with our room and they responded immediately. They even went out of their way to arrange for us to stay in a different room. We unfortunately had to go home early and they graciously agreed to refund the pre-paid nights that we would not be staying there. They also gave us a nice parting gift which was greatly appreciated. Again, the staff at The Landis Taipei, especially Angel Wu, made our brief stay in Taipei a great experience!
