I visited The Lily hotel for 2 weeks in November for a boxing tournament. The hotel was magnificent. The rooms very spacious, with air conditioning, very large beds, a refrigerator, large shower and bathroom. The rooms were cleaned daily and the staff would also leave bottled water each day, with a copy of the newspaper and a special touch with towel designs as swans and roses. The restaurant was great with very nice food with friendly staff such as Tariful, Mehtab and Dipankar wo were ever so helpful and always greeted us with BIG friendly smiles. The karaoke was fab - we joined in with the couple who sang once or twice and had good fun. The swimming pool and gym were an extra asset for the hotel which we loved. Overall an amazing stay which we would hughly recommend to others. Well dont The Lily on great customer services.

The hotel is situated off main road, 45 minutes from airport by taxi. Staff is friendly. Accommodation is good. They need a business desk/room. At present they are using travel desk. Sleep quality good. Food quality better. Breakfast choices can be improved. lunch Buffet is nice. Housekeeping excellent. Bathroom door locks need changing. Rooms are spacious. Staying is recommended for family.

The hotel is situated in a nice place away from the bustle & crowd of the city. It is on the Shillong Guwahati road & though the traffic is heavy during busy hours it is still manageable. The city has a nice facade with plants hanging from every floor & the property looks appealing. The hotel is spacious as you enter & gives one the feel of a business hotel. However, the lack of service is seen at the gate itself. The guard may or may not always be present & sometimes even if he is he may not open the gate for the guest. The rooms are large & nice but the biggest problem is the lighting. It is virtually dark & despite telling the hotel staff to improve it they did precious little. So we had to conduct our work for 10 days in pretty dark conditions. The cleaning staff is apparently not trained enough & do a shoddy job of cleaning the room. Most mornings we had to request the staff to get the working rooms cleaned & someone had to always get after them. When they refill things like tea bags they put precisely 2 of each & one has to request them later for more. The food is just about alright & nothing spectacular. The hotel is popular with the local crowd as it has many banquet facilities on a couple of floors. The evenings tend to get crowded &noisy, the lifts get occupied, & toilets may not be clean etc. On one day some of the participants in our program got stuck in the lift as the electricity went off & despite complaining to the GM we got no response. The people inside the lift somehow managed to open it themselves after 5 minutes & got out to safety. This is not expected of a 4 Star deluxe property which claims to have an ISO certification. All in all a mixed experience.

Stayed in The Lily Hotel for one night and it was a nice experience. Room ambiance is relaxing. Bathroom facilities and cleanliness was up to the mark. Restaurant was good but still there are some scope for improvement in variety of food prepared and seating arrangement. Tooftop pool was nice. Overall a nice experience. Only thing I didn't like much was the cable tv. It had only few local assamese channels. Anyone willing to watch a late night good english movie, just like me, will surely get disappointed. Waiting lounge area was good and spacious.

Evening fresh air with kebab and chilled beer, Romantic,
Cilantro dinner fantastic with live music
