What People are saying

So far, not so good

chicklynickly on 16/11/2017 08:41

Obviously high concept. And yet, no one helped me out of my taxi. The check-in at the front desk was totally perfunctory: no floor, no directions to elevator, no wifi instrucitons, didn't tell me where pool, restaurant, bar are located. Nothing.
Room has a pretty cool layout. However, the curtain is totally frayed and seeminlyg immovable. The chair at the desk is possibly the worst chair I've ever sat in...no back (like it's missing) and the cushion is totally shot..and does not align with the style of the room, not even in the aren't-we-eclectic sort of way one could imagine. Like, actually, I think they got it from a Marriott that closed in the 90s...or maybe out in front of someone's house on Normandie.
No Q-tips or cotton balls.

Came here for a weekend getaway and I heard about this place from a friend, it’s in the heart of Korean town and it’s walking distance to plenty of things. The lobby is hip and perfect place to chill and hang out. At night it turns into a club and there is the speakeasy next door, a swanky 80’s vibe dark room with tufted vinyl walls, old speaker decor on the walls, intimate space for groups, chill music. Definitely coming back to this hotel.

Great View, Some Mechanical Problems

Out_of_valley on 15/11/2017 20:57

I had a room with a view of the Hollywood Hills, and it was fantastic. The entire wall was made up of large panes of glass, so it was possible to see way to the west and a little to the east (a building partly blocked that side). The decor is interesting, to put it mildly, with concrete walls in the corridors and in the main part of the room. (The entry area was wood, in an off-white color.)

But there were some problems. In the elevators, there is a notice that you have to place your key card on a flat plate above the floor buttons to go to the guest room floors, but that is not true - just pushing the button for the floor will do it. There were also some problems with my room.

The room decor is very nice, but although there were three chairs in the room, two are a modern design and one is at the desk, and you can't really relax in any of them, or at least I couldn't.

It is right across the street from the Wilshire and Normandie station of the Purple Line subway, so it is very easy to get to downtown L.A. without the hassle of driving.

Cold Showers and Early Morning Wake Up Calls

eastcoaster101 on 13/11/2017 18:03

I recently stayed at the Line Hotel for 4 nights. On two mornings there was no hot water when I went to take a shower. The beds were comfy, but it was very noisy, I was woken up each morning to very loud banging around 3 AM. The first night it went on so long I assumed the city of LA allowed for all night construction, although I think it may have been dumpsters being emptied and dropped back down on the pavement. I would recommend for sound sleepers only. On the plus side the restaurant and cafe were good.

Bad night, worse customer service

drSF on 10/11/2017 01:00

Stay away from the Line during the Rock and Roll marathon... and possibly other nights as well. After a late Saturday night, were woken up at 7:30am by pounding drums and guitars blasting directly into our room -- pillows and earplugs were no match. Despite having unused rooms on the other side of the hotel, the staff offered zero help and more disdain than sympathy. Ended up sleeping in the hallway. For $300/night, I expect more.
