Go here if you are very hungry as the portions are huge and the food delicious. Lovely little quaint pub with good home cooked food. Not one of our party managed to eat all that they ordered and none of us could manage desert. Lovely staff, fabulous service. Will return.
Sunday lunch.

Impromptu visit, good reviews, so decided to give it a try. Comfortable old country pub interior with extensive real ale selection but only one insipid draught cider. Considered pricing expensive at £3.85 a pint.
Lunch when served started well good portions of meat, hot plates, excellent gravy spoiled by overcooked dismal selection of vegetables comprising, leeks, broccoli and runner bean sections. Somewhat redeemed by excellent sweets and a two course price of £12.75 ea.
Service was excellent staff pleasant but lack of decent draught cider and the iffy vegetables would preclude a further visit.
Very good pub grub

On a country walk with the dog, we stopped for a Sunday lunch for two, sitting outside in the July sunshine. I would recommend the very tasty mushroom and red onion pie. It was quite a log wait to be served but it was worth it. Could be excellent if bar staff were quicker and there was more attention to detail in the pub- it was looking a bit tired.
45 minutes wait per table for food

We arrived Friday for a family meal. Certain they were more concerned about providing drinks to the full bar rather than the restaurant. Exception; they missed out about £60 worth of drinks on our tab.
Food was below average. I ordered gammon steak, incredibly salty, frozen oven chips and a massive amount of iceberg lettuce. Also we had BBQ ribs, pie and steak, kids pizzas. Kids pizzas were those Goodfella microwave pizzas, and it did come out of microwave. Steak was nothing special, burnt cheap cut of rump (came 10 minutes after everyone had their meals as grill was apparently out of order). Ribs were covered in BBQ sauce, very little pork. Pie was apparently nice though, but still plonked on the plate with a tiny bit of pastry on top.
Kids ordered a cheese board and salad was nicer on there than any of the mains served.
Meal came out every 30-45minutes.. Think my mum and auntie were drunk before food arrived.
Shall not be coming back anytime soon.
Dissapointed

We've had a drink here a few times as antenna tie to being in Brixham, generally we find it has a nice "local" feeling with NO TV. which is allways a bonus for a sociable time out. We thought we would try a Sunday lunch. POSITIVES nice, helpful staff, clean and efficient NEGATIVES glass of wine and a beer was £9.80 which is £3.00 more than our local in Brixham. We had beef and lamb, both of which were over cooked and looked like they were bought in pre-sliced ( never a good sign). The veg were, carrots, swede and a sprinkle of grey French beans which was dissapointing, Yorkshire pudding burnt Don't think we'll return Such a shame
