Visited on 13th November with a family member who was paying and to be honest I wish we had complained, but as we were not paying it didn't feel right. However, on reflection, we have to write this review.
The trio of sausages were quite clearly either yesterday's or from breakfast that day - they were definitely not "amazing"! One portion only had half a sausage eaten ...
The fish was edible, but I have had better fish from a chippy.
The service was good until we left and no-one even said thank you or goodbye.
Will never ever be back or recommend and as a local not good.

The pub has a great selection of beers and helpful and friendly staff,We had a meal here and the food was amazing, the service was top notch and when we go to Alnwick again, this will be the first pub we go to.We didn't stay here so I can't review that.

Outstanding food far above the average pub standard! Brilliant fish and chips with fantastic home made tartar sauce. The slow cooked beef was perfect, the service friendly and very attentive.
We enjoyed our stay a lot!

What a lovely late lunch!
Thank you for immediately making us and our two dogs welcome! Especially for coming over with a biscuit for both the pooches!
Food (Sunday roast and the Lamb) and ale were lovely and will definitely be recommending and returning if we can.

We ended up eating here twice in one day as we hadn't realised how busy everywhere would be mid week, the restaurant was full however we were able to put some tables together at the bar and we had our meals there. The food was all tasty and the service was fab. Will definitely return again!
