Tired of faceless, corporate hotels, where you feel as if you are treated as a number rather then a guest. Then this is the perfect place for you. The staff treat you as part of the family, and the locals welcome you with open arms.
You will be staying in the cosy cottage situated next door to the pub itself. It has a charming rustic feel to it, with a very comfortable bed.
The food is very hearty here, makes a great change from the generic chain pub meals. There is a different special each night, so if you re planning on staying a while, you will never need to eat the same meal twice. Also i recommend the on tap Bitburger.
Overall, thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, and recommend it to anyone else looking for a hotel in the area.

If you want perfect straight lines and posh, this is not for you. If you want beamed ceilings, a big bed in a room where you can swing a cat and is clean and tidy and a little querky then you need to stay here. The staff are very pleasant and easy to get on with and the food is of an excellent quality and quantity. We stayed in a room in the cottage next to the pub on the ground floor and there was no exterior noise. We have already booked to stay again as we are going to visit the Lincoln Christmas market in December and this is the place we are staying. Thanks for a very nice break.

But came here for the food. We had the steak special as it was my birthday ;). It was lovely. Came back the next day for breakfast and that was lovely too. I really like it here, the landlady and landlord are lovely and so are the other staff. It is an oldy worldy pub full of character, such a shame we live too far away but will be back when we are back in the village.

Had a lovely meal on Mexican night. Really enjoyed having something different!
I decided to have a desert, as I NEVER have a desert, and glad I did, the lemon cheesecake was gorgeous. I would go back just for that! Huge portion too.

The accommodation is in a converted cottage behind the pub. My room, 4, was suitable for the price with a large double, maybe queen size bed and ok shower room. I slept well, in fact not even waking at my normal time. The main room and shower were clean, but a duster higher up would remove the cobwebs. Needs a small boxed in extension for the kettle to be used on the back window sill. With a few small changes a desk with mirror could be incorporated. The knobs on the shower were also a bit hard to use when wet. I ate in the pub and the food and beer were good. I will be back if needing to work in the area again.
