Stayed with my partner for 3 nights, wish we had booked longer. On arrival we were made to feel most welcome. Having never visited the town before we were given a local restaurant guide which covered every taste and was very useful, together with a local booklet guide which contained vouchers for a lot of the attractions. Nothing was too much trouble.
The room we stayed in was large and very clean. The bed was big and extremely comfortable. I loved the old fashioned dressing table and they had thought of everything including a slate mat so you could put your straighteners on without worrying about damaging the beautiful dresser.
Now let’s talk about breakfast....... I struggle in a lot of places as I don’t like a full cooked breakfast, but here you have such a choice and so beautifully displayed. The little pots of fruit and yogurt were lovely but the home made pancakes were something else, exceptional. Anything you wanted cook was freshly made, not like in most hotels were you help yourself to the hot buffet, my husband could certainly taste the difference and enjoyed a variety of breakfasts during our stay. The attention to detail is evident throughout the hotel, but even the breakfast table had quirky little things like the butter on a little dish in the shape of pineapples, and the fresh milk in little milk urn bottles gives this hotel the edge over some of the bigger chains. The breakfast staff are so lovely and are a credit to the hotel.
Ian, Craig and Harvey (their adorable dog), made our stay very enjoyable and we look forward to returning.

Lovely welcome from Craig on arrival, friendliness continued throughout. Spotlessly clean, and such beautiful furnishings, the attention to detail is spot on. Room was very quiet with a spacious bathroom and again very clean. Have to say one of the best breakfasts we gave had, great choice, freshly prepared, presented well and tasted as good as it looked. Liked the granola. Ian was the host for breakfast, he too was a very friendly guy. It's obvious they take great pride in their hotel and justifiably so. Will we return? Oh yes we will.

We very much enjoyed our 2 night stay. We received a very warm welcome from Ian and Craig. The hotel is small, very personal and comfortable. There's a sumptuous sitting room for guests to use and a lovely cosy bar. A delicious freshly cooked breakfast was the perfect start. Ian and Craig made dinner reservations at the Orange Tree for us (highly recommend) and ordered us taxis. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a delightful stay and look forward to returning.

Many thanks to Ian and Craig for there warm hospitality in a magnificent setting. Lovely room,comfortable bed,deep bath,and in the morning a hearty breakfast. Our only disappointment was that our hosts did not play the magnificent Dresden built piano in the elegant lounge whilst we were there. Heartily recommended!

This 5 star Guest House is simply grand. A lovely step back in time where one can imagine what is was like to live in Victorian luxury. Stunning rooms, stunning food, and fabulous service from the guys and their employees. If you are looking for quality- then look knowhere else. Thank you Craig and Ian for being fabulous hosts.
