I'm so pleased that I booked into this little gem of a guesthouse. Spotlessly clean with little finishing touches normally only seen in pricier hotels. The most comfortable bed and a fabulous breakfast to follow. Alison is great - nothing is too much trouble for her, and she took time out to chat with me even though she probably had more pressing things to be getting on with. Thanks Alison - it means a lot when you're travelling solo. My only disappointment was that having decided to stay over an extra night, she was fully booked. But if I ever visit Scarborough in the future - The Meltham is where I'll be heading for.

I stayed here for just one night but I'll be back. Very friendly and helpful landlady. Couldn't fault it. It's set back centrally behind nearer the north than south beach, so it is a walk to the front but its not too far away. Alison the landlady is super helpful and very friendly.

Stayed for two nights as my husband wanted a trip down memory of days gone by in Scarborough.
Alison was very obliging and arranged to cater for my gluten free diet at breakfast. And it was delicious, Many hotels wouldn't even bother.
Our Room was extremely clean and couldn't be faulted at all.
It was very warm during our stay and again Alison had thought of her guests comfort and offered us a fan. But the rooms were fine with great ventilation.
We will look forward to a return visit in the autumn.

This is a lovely place, with friendly owners and an amazing standard of quality given the price. The room was spotless, with tea and coffee making facilities and a tv with DVD player. There is also a games room with pool table and board games which is great for rainy days. I'm vegan and Alison went out of her way to accommodate this at breakfast - she bought me sausages for breakfast, provided dairy free spread and her knowledge of what was suitable and not suitable was really impressive and certainly made my trip a lot more enjoyable. We will certainly be back!

Lovely B&B and Alison was very helpful and welcoming. On-street parking but permits and scratch cards were given to us for the weekend. Breakfast choices were very good and the food was great. Would definitely stay here again.
