As a frequent traveller both in London and overseas, and often on my own being able to find a hotel that is friendly (but not too friendly) and welcoming to a single woman travelling on business this is such a fabulous place. Great staff, lovely rooms, and just everything that you might need. Bar and restaurant staff are professional and excellent. Reception is friendly and efficient. This is such a lovely place

This was our 3rd stay at this fantastic hotel and once again a wonderful experience overall! One can mention the beautiful, immaculate rooms, great breakfast, unique high-tea experience etc. but it is the staff in particular who truly make this hotel unique.
Highly professional at every level, extremely helpful and courteous day and night,these men and women make you wanna come back...which we will do of course!

My wife's bucket list included the need to stay in a Red Carnation hotel in London. She chose The Montague and is now telling our family and friends of the welcome and continued attention by the staff that we received during our stay.
The public rooms are comfortable with a selection of daily newspapers. The one surprise, and to a certain extent a disappointment, was the size of the bedroom and bathroom. But then we realised that the building is about 200 years old and therefore not custom built to today's expectation by visitors

First- this is a warm and generous hotel- there is fresh coffee, muffins and fresh fruit available every morning. And there is free bottled water every day set out in the room. The staff is warm and accommodating.
The public rooms are inviting and cozy. Unfortunately, my hotel room was not what I had hoped for. The room was available when I checked in at 9 AM, and I was too tired from my overnight flight to ask for another room. The room consisted of a landing and small bathroom and then a 10-step staircase down to the bed. Aside from the nuisance of walking up and down the stairs many times a day and night, the real problem was that the heat came in at the top of the staircase and stayed there- and the bedroom part was cold. I asked to have the heat checked twice before someone admitted that this was a problem with the staircase rooms and provided the room with a heater. The room was definitely NOT worth its cost. The restaurant was fine- a lovely breakfast was available (although not included), and the Leopard Bar was charming.

While we had a short delay waiting for the room due to our early arrival, the room upgrade, the restaurant, and bar personnel all provided excellent service and I notice the attention to detail by the staff, the cards and the gentleman who surprised us with the ice and snacks on our last day, was very much appreciated, and made the stay a real nice memory.
