Was given a disabled room when not disabled? When I was checking in I heard another customer inform reception that their colleague was not staying over that night. I rang reception to try swap rooms and was lied to about the hotel being fully booked? Tv remote did not work and room v shabby. Plus food basic. Heard another customer complaining about dry sea bass.
Also, leisure centre is looking shabby. They do sell moisture proof paint for the walls!

A vary warm welcome at reception and our room was ready early! We found a very pleasant and clean room. The only thing missing was a room safe. The bathroom had a bath and a separate shower. Leisure facilities good and the pool well heated. The restaurant seemed understaffed pm and service was poor but the next morning at breakfast totally different and very efficient. All in all v good value and enjoyable stay.

The car park was a good size and check in was straight forward. Receiving a complimentary drink card for filling in a few details was a good start. I asked for a charge card and was told my card wallet had gold stars on which meant it works for charging to the room but the gold stars are almost invisible unless under bright light but it worked. There was a choice to eat dinner in the bar area or restaurant so I choose the restaurant. We had two main meals and both the sea bass and gourmet burger tasted nice. After waiting 5 minutes for the bill we got up and left, having already provided name and room number before being seated. As I was saying goodbye to my son a waitress had come across reception to ask me to sign the bill. Stuck between saying goodbye and signing I just signed without paying much attention to the cost. On check out the next morning I was informed I had signed for two buffets, not the food we ate. This was rectified and it was my fault for signing an incorrect amount to a certain extent but I shouldn’t have been given the wrong bill in the first place and/or be put under pressure to sign in the reception area either. It could have waited.
My room “360” was diapppointing in some ways. It wasn’t a bad size, had a trouser press, bathroom with linen and toiletries, tea/coffee and a TV but the air con unit which requires your room card to be inserted was awful. Too hot, too loud, too cold.....gave up in the end and switched it off. I didn’t call reception as it was too late to bother but surely a simple insert card and adjust temperature should be all that is required? The following isn’t the hotels fault at all but whoever the rowdy (with one female who definitely had a North American accent) group was, who appeared to be leaving (maybe returning?) the hotel at 4am need to start considering others. I didn’t get back to sleep so thanks for that.

I had a nice stay at the hotel, the staff is very friendly. I did however have some keycard problems which required me to return to the front desk twice, each time waiting in a long line to be helped. In the end it turned out that 2 separate employees had programmed my keycard incorrectly and that is why I could not enter my room. I was in room 112 which required having the card programmed to open 2 different doors. The breakfast had a nice selection. However it is not the best if you are in a hurry as they seat each person individually and this take more time than just letting people come and dine.

Me and my partner stayed here for two nights, as there was something he wanted to visit in Nottingham and we got the break package. Due to the package we had £56 between us for food each night, breakfast both mornings, and a bottle of prosecco in our room - lovely.
The food was brilliant, we both highly recommend the steak! Breakfast was great, a mix of hot and cold and plenty to choose from.
The room was spacious and comfortable.
Whilst there we made use of the spa facilities, pool sauna and steam room, they were fab! The facilities were clean and in good condition, much better than other hotels I have stayed in.
All of the staff, especially the restaurant staff, were so welcoming and seemed genuinely happy within their work which is a rarity these days. We both had a good chat with the evening restaurant staff.
My only tiny niggle was we were placed in room 201 directly opposite some sort of office? This itself wasn’t a problem, but it might just be worth asking the staff in there to not leave the door open whilst they complain about their workload and checking in/out times - we could hear everything! Still, this didn’t spoil our trip, it just wasn’t very professional.
Overall I really enjoyed my visit and as it’s only an hour from home, I am hoping to treat my mum to a spa day next year as a treat!
