Decent business hotel with ok food and accomodation

I stayed at this hotel in October 2016. I stayed here as I could not get room at my regular hotel.
It's a basic business hotel. The room was decent. Buffet breakfast is limited but food quality was OK. The outside photo looks impressive but from inside, it's very basic. The furniture in lobby is old and worn out. You would not want to sit there.
Did not use room service or ask for anything so cannot comment on service level. Staff was polite but not well trained. Reception has just one person who sleeps there so if you need anything late in the night, you won't get any help.
Wifi was slow and limited. It worked in patches. I could check emails but attachments took too long to download. If you need to make Skype calls, wifi will not work.
Overall, a decent place if you just want a place to stay for the night.

Good, but lacks in certain respects.

Stayed in a premium type room in the third floor facing the busy Avinashi Coimbatire road. However, the amenities like mini-bar, coffee maker, etc are not provided despite charging a high tariff of 3000 plus tax. The lift facility isn't not available from the room levels to each the restaurant. Food is alright.

The maintenance of the room and supply of toiletry need improvement as there is no supervision from the management. Similarly, the hotel didn't have any clue to my booking made, one week ago, through Makemy Trip site. The deficiency in service might be due to the shortcomings from the travel site, but the hotel has no system to keep tarck of the bookings made.

For The Givernment tax collected, the hotel issued a receipt showing it as Miscellaneous receipt. After my insistence, the staff corrected the bill by manually writing it as GST. Such is the level of administration of this hotel.

Overall, keep this hotel as a last resort when you plan your Coimbatore trip.

Hotel was really good. I did stay for three night. It was comfortable stay.Location was also at key place. It is nearby to the hotel Raddision Blu. The road is key. You can take any road transport bus to reach in and around city. MacDonald is nearby. Room was good. Room service was also good. Hotel has restaurant with good food. They have facility of airport pic up and drop.

The hotel staff were very hospitable. They arranged pick up from airport for a nominal charge. The hotel appeared a bit run down - very surprising for a hotel which is supposed to be only a few years old.
The room furtniture & fixtures, bed furnishings, toilet etc were not in great shape.
The restaurant service and food was pretty good.

I have selected this hotel based on the location. The hotel location is very good. The hotel was built beautifully and failed to maintain it.

Check-In
I have a checked-in to the hotel in the late evening the front office person has no hospitability in his face and allotted a room to us. His attitude carrys that he is giving something to some one on a free of cost....

Room
The room which was allotted to me was in the first floor which has a bad smoke smell. When i asked the bellman he said that was an non-smoking room but the earlier guest who stayed would have smoked in the room. I don't understand how did they cleaned the room without finding the smell in the room and how did they allot the room to some other guest who has requested for a non smoking room.
Again i called the person from the reception to ask for the room change and then i was shifted to 3rd Floor room 310.
The room was an inter connected and the bell man has no idea about it. I was bit tired and managed to stay in the same room. The room was again brilliantly designed and failed to maintained. The Room painting was gone and wooden fixtures were broken curtains was old and faded bed sheet has stains and marks.
The bathroom has got one soap and dental kit the curtains was dirty floors got stains shampoo was really bad.

Room service
The room service was quick and efficient

Food
They have very less option of food in their menu but the food taste was really good but little oily.

Breakfast
They have less then 10 Dishes in the breakfast what is not worth for the amount you are paying. Good part is again food tastes good in breakfast too. But again the restaurant was not maintained well and the cutlery and crockery what they used was not good.

Checkout
When we asked for late checkout of 02Hrs they were asked to pay Rs.750+Taxes. The hotel follows 24hrs Check-In & Check-Out for the customer who book with them directly and the customer who books through online have to checkout by sharp 12pm the biggest joke... Anyhow after a conversation they were agreed to give a late checkout. I should thank them for this biggest help. The same hotel carries different policies for the customers need to change those policies.

While i am checking out i have to face the same person in the reception who has done my check-In. This person needs to understand how to handle a customer before he stands in the reception. Not even a fake smile in his face.

Overall The Orbis was a good hotel with the bad maintenance and improper staffing i have paid around 4k for an un-professionalized hotel. But surely if the management would look into this issues this hotel would be the best place to stay in coimbatore in terms of location
