PROS
- Staff was AWESOME, and delivered fantastic customer service! Ana, Rocelli, and Keelah always smile and offer helpful answers. Gorgeous grounds are kept clean, raked, and pool cleaned daily (sometimes hourly).
-Kitchen condo provided everything we needed, including first day of coffee and 5 gallon drinking water jug. View of ocean was amazing from #22. AC in each room provided custom comfort. TVs in LR and Bedroom offer a TON of movie channels.
-Location close enough to walk along beach to restaurants. Favorites include Ramon's (next door), Hurricanes, Fido's, Estel's, and Elvi's. NEW - ParadICE Cream right next door to The Palms. Best homemade Ice Cream - EVER!
CONS
- Pool on backside of condo, while providing privacy, equals no ocean view from the pool. It DID help block the wind on the rainy days we spent in the pool.
- Location across street from airport, while convenient for travel days, equals no sleeping in. Flights start at 6:30 am. Not a big deal for a few days, but for a longer stay....
- Hot water for showers is limited. 5 min. tops! Rinsed out swim suits smell moldy from water. No clothes line in shower makes drying out suits difficult.
Bottom Line - Fantastic Staff and well maintained facility make for a comfy, USA standard vacation. A quick tour of the local living conditions makes you thankful for running water.
Tip - Resorts North of the bridge are newer, but require travel on unpaved, pothole ridden road. If you want the ability to shop and to have a variety of eating options, stay at The Palms!
Perfect location and beautiful view!
kristenbrownon 25/09/2017 20:04We upgraded to the 2bed exec suite and we loved our room. 2nd floor, huge windows with the best ocean view. Upgraded bathrooms, full kitchen, tv, A/C. This boutique hotel is close enough to walk to town, but tucked away to still be quiet at night. This place is right next to Ramon's if you're there to dive. I don't think there's any good place to swim or snorkel in Ambergris Caye unless you take a tour or boat and go out a little further. But the water is amazing in color, just a lot of seagrass. Melinda at the front desk is very helpful and friendly. We rented a golf cart through her and went to Secret Beach. Definitely a must do. I would gladly stay at The Palms again.
Special Boutique Feel
alikat92on 20/09/2017 22:52This is a small property of condos and not a hotel. However, Ana and the staff will go out of their way for you. They booked a snorkeling tour that came right to the private dock to pick us up. So convenient! They will also stock the refrigerator for you in advance if you ask them. This is a great timesaver on your vacation. Our unit had a ton of space and was very comfortable. All have an ocean view and you are right in town for easy access to the beach and dining options.
Difficult to deal with the hotel during Hurricane Harvey

We booked this Hotel in late August for a hard earned trip from Houston to celebrate my birthday with the family after a long year. We were asked to pay in Full through their customer service which we did promptly. Hurricane Harvey hit Houston hard and our neighborhood hardest. All flights were cancelled as airport is flooded and roads to airport are flooded with no option to rebook. We had no power, internet, and spotty wireless connection for days but we found away to contact the hotel promptly (several days before arrival) about our flooded house and the cancelled flights.The Hotel responded that
no refund will be issued. There are tons of options in Belize. We feel the Hotel response lacked all heart and compassion. We are now out of much needed money & having to deal with this. We thought our tripadvisor community should know about this and make decision accordingly.
Great stay
ktitoneon 05/09/2017 01:14We were very happy with the location of this hotel- around the corner, walking distance to the airport. There are many restaurants and cafes nearby in town, but they are a little far to walk- we rented a golf cart and had a parking spot at the hotel. There are a few restaurants walking distance on the beach. The staff was friendly, and there was always security at the entrance. The room was spacious and clean. We used the kitchen every day. The pool was clean. Towels were provided daily. The staff was friendly and gave us recommendations for local restaurants, and also helped us book a tour. I would stay at the Palms again.
