We booked a late room to attend an evening function. Melvyn Rutter, the proprietor, was utterly charming and gave us such a warm, friendly welcome. The place was easy to find, beautifully appointed and the dining room/kitchen where you help yourself to breakfast and tea/coffee was absolutely fabulous, with every mod con you could think of. The beds were very comfortable, the hot water plentiful and the other guests friendly. I loved the fact that we could go and visit the Morgans in the show room below us at any time! Melvyn and his family are devoted to the Morgan sports car and designed and built the building that houses The Pitstop themselves. I loved that the oak floor and bed headboard in the room we stayed in (The Aero Room) was made from an oak tree which grew on site but which was felled to make way for the build. I also love that the arched windows in the guest kitchen/diner dated from 1905 and were rescued from a building at the Morgan Factory in Worcestershire that was pulled down, restored and given new life at The Pitstop. A lovely place and will definitely return if we need to stay over that way again.

We had a sensational stay at The Pit Stop. We were welcomed warmly, the room was beautifully and tastefully decorated, and the self-service 1950’s diner was great fun, allowing you to enjoy an evening tea / coffee and snack, and a delicious well-catered for breakfast. We also hired a Morgan Car from the Morgan Garage which is part of the same premises. My husband was in his element as we drove it around the stunning, country roads, stopping for the odd photo and cup of coffee here and there. But I thoroughly enjoyed it also. The heater in the car made it lovely even in November, and it was amazing to go back in time to simply enjoy the car and the country side and one another’s company. We are in our late 20’s / early 30’s so I truly believe that this weekend experience can be suitable for all.

I travel a lot and to find such a welcoming place to stop over these days are few and far between. Nice touch to be able to choose and make my own breakfast, it was like being at home, just with more in the fridge.

Unique decor and theme. Well worth a visit. The owners were friendly and passionate about the hotel. The rooms were classy and well presented. But the diner was the jewel in the crown. The buffet style “help yourself” was great.

Stayed for 8 days whilst down for in the area for a couple of events and couldn't have chosen better.
Friendly, welcoming and became a complete experience submerged in everything Morgan and Melvyn.
He and wife Sindy insist on perfection and it shows in their personal input to décor, service and quality.
The whole place reminded me of a Morgan car themed Port Merion and it was just as fabulous as that fantasy world.
A great find and a definite for the next time.
