Lovely building right located at the Plaza De Armas in Lima, near the Cathedral. Well worth a visit. Take a taxi and ask for the Plaza de Armas.

The Presidential palace cannot be missed if you explore the city center. It is on the main square. You will be surprised how long is the changing guard ritual. It takes one hour! And during this hour you hear different type of music like on a concert :) You cannot take pictures through the bars during the changing guard procedure but before or after you can come closer to the fence and take pictures.

We passed the presidential palace while on the evening Mirabus tour. At night it was beautiful, all lit up and looking very regal. Not sure if they offer tours of the inside; our bus didn't stop but the square is really pretty. Lots of people were out walking around.

Another stunning building bordering Plaza de Armas which is actually the residence of the president of peru and houses gov't offices so things around here were pretty tight with a large iron fence around it.
We were with a tour group that was moving quickly thus we missed the changing of the guards that occurs daily at noon!
