cosy and friendly
chiang-mancon 31/10/2017 21:23Stayed here for a weekend break, We received a warm welcome and after a quick drink were shown to our room by the friendly staff. the room was clean and cosy with a small ensuite shower room. there is a separate entrance leading to the beer garden for guest to use when the pub is closed. We were told to just leave the key in the door when we were ready to check out.
The bar is welcoming with a local friendly vibe, there is a separate pool room and tv room with sky sports. Unfortunately the kitchen wasn't open during our stay so never got to sample the food. I would recommend this place for those looking for a quiet place to stay.

Weekend break
Sandra Gon 29/08/2017 10:57Lovely place to stay, large family room ideal for 4. Service excellent pub welcoming to all. Dogs allowed in which kids found strange as not used to this at home but well behaved animals. Could not get parked on night of arrival but not a problem after this. Would defiant stay again.
Disppointing.
LondonSparrowon 08/08/2017 22:26We stayed here a couple of weeks ago and were disappointed to find that food was not available in the evening, the only option locally was the Punchbowl down the road. Equally and more annoying, breakfast was not served in the hotel either and we had to go down the road for that as well. Our room was small and cramped and the cleaning was not up to scratch. Management were dismissive and completely unapologetic, a contrast to the barman who was charming and helpful.
Food good but overpriced
WirralMazon 20/07/2017 21:35Four of us booked for an evening meal. We were all happy'ish - two sea bream with new potatoes and a small veg selection £14.95 and two fish chips and mushy peas £9.95, I think ! After two cheesecakes and coffees, the bill was over £70. I think slightly overpriced.
Appalling and uncaring. Avoid at all costs.

Although advertising bed and breakfast, and breakfast was included on the booking.com confirmation, we were told on arrival that breakfast was not available. Rooms dingy and falling apart. Management accused me of lying when I pointed this out. Food very poor. Beer OK but ran out. No fridge available for my insulin. Vastly overpriced. Very disappointed.
