Great stay

We stayed here for one night after a day in Longlete. Lovely little pub. Our room was a good size and clean. The landlord and landlady were lovely from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We had dinner and drinks in the bar which was nice and the breakfast was the best we've had in a B&B. Good quality cooked breakfast and lovely thick sliced toast to go with it. Only downside of the whole stay was that the shower had no power to it at all but it wasn't enough to spoil our visit. We'd certainly stay again if we are in the area.
Appalling stay, wish we hadn't paid in advance

On checking in, we were not told that the heating had failed. It did not come back all week. Once in the room, it was so cold (November) that we asked for heating and were given an electric fan heater! The staff appeared surprised when we asked for a spare toilet roll.
The first night's sleep was awful. The metal springs and wire edge of the mattress on one of the twin beds were pushing through. We asked to change rooms and were put in the "family room". We took the fan heater with us. The shower in this room is just a trickle. On emptying the washbasin, black sludge is pushed up into the bath. There is no usable wifi signal.
The next day we returned to find that the room had not been serviced. On enquiring, we were told that if we wanted the room serviced we should have left the room key - apparently they have no master key. So the following day we left the key as requested. On our return we were locked out! The on-site member of staff couldn't get into the room where the keys were kept, so they had to contact someone off-duty at home to come in and release the key.
Breakfast is juice, cereal and "full English" with its variations. Nice bacon, sausage, black pudding (a treat) and well-cooked poached/scrambled/fried eggs with tomatoes, beans, fried bread, toast. No Marmite, no marmalade until specially asked for.
We had booked the Red Lion on the basis of its reviews (must have been a different inn!) and that it offered evening meals - so we wouldn't have to drive in the dark. But it was so cold with no heating that we had to go elsewhere anyway. Such disappointment. And no refund offered at any point.
Comfortable room

Stayed at The Red Lion for one night over the weekend, we had two double rooms which were well appointed and clean. The beds were comfortable and my friend and I both had a good nights sleep. Unfortunately there was no hot water in the morning and the pub had a short power cut (not sure if this was the cause). We went down for breakfast to wait for the immersion to heat the water, on return to our rooms there was just enough water for a shower each but not quite enough for a hair wash too. Breakfast was very nice, cereals to start and a full English choice served with lovely thick slices of bread.
A relaxing weekend in Wiltshire

We spent a very relaxing and comfortable two nights at the Red Lion. The Red Lion is a great little village pub. The beating heart of the village. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. The room we stayed is recently modernised and very comfortable. We slept well. An excellent base for exploring this lovely part of the country.
Great for a short stay

We stayed here for one night after a long flight from Vancouver. The owners are friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. Wifi worked well and it was very quiet at night. The food in the pub is delicious as are the beers. A very large English breakfast was served the next morning but you also have the option of ordering some items a la carte. Located in sleepy little Warminster it was also nice to stroll around the beautiful surrounding area.
