Reynolds Mansion is LOVELY!

We stayed in the Maggie room which was not the most lavish of all the rooms in the mansion, but it was perfect for our needs: clean bathroom, comfy bed, well lit and all the comforts of home.
What stands out about this B&B is the kindness of owner Billy Sanders and hostess Sandy. They made us feel like we were the only guests there. Billy had great recommendations for restaurants and things to do and he is a gifted story teller! I could have listened to his stories all day long!! So much history and so little time!!
Sandy showed us around the place upon arrival. She is adorable, so thoughtful and made us feel completely at home.
And then there are the breakfasts!! I cannot adequately describe how completely delicious they were! I will be dreaming about those delicious breakfasts for years -- eggs Benedict like I've never had before, maple infused bacon perfectly cooked--to die for, and heavenly cheese grits that disappeared from my plate within seconds of being presented.
We can't wait to go back!!
An amazing bed and breakfast!!!

My husband and I went to Asheville for a mini-vacation and stayed at The Reynolds Mansion. We have stayed at many B&Bs and this one is at the top of the list. The mansion and grounds are beautiful. The breakfast is INCREDIBLE! The rooms are lovely and very clean. But, the best part of The Reynolds Mansion is the people. Billy and Mike are gracious hosts. We felt welcomed and were very well fed. Everybody who works here are wonderful. What a treasure! We had a memorable visit and look forward to returning. Make sure you stay here if Asheville is your destination.
Southern Charm and adorable owners

My husband and I recently stayed at the Reynolds Mansion for two nights. We were met by Sandy (one of the staff) before we even hit the door. While we awaited Billy (one of the owners) to check us in, Sandy gave us some information about the home. One can tell that Billy and Mike take great pride in their home and love to share it with their guests. Billy checked us in and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and excursions. Our room (the Katie) was spacious although the claw-foot tub/shower is hidden behind a discreet curtain it is in the room. Not a set-up for the innately clumsy; however, a stand-up shower is available in the bathroom across the hall if you're not feeling adventurous. Our breakfast on both days was extravagant to say the least. Unlike most B&B's we've stayed in, the Reynolds has one sitting at 9:00 AM and a grand table. Billy presides sharing whimsical stories of the Reynolds and Asheville. His staff discreetly removes and serves scrumptious entrees like egg and veggie filled crepes and homemade pancakes. All in all, it was a memorable trip, and we were delighted with our experience. The only items to keep in mind is that there is only one guest room on the ground floor that might be for those who can't go up many stairs. Friday afternoons can be a mad rush at check-in (as we found out), so arriving a little later (around five-six), might be to your advantage.
Fantastically restored pre-civil war mansion! Every detail thought of.

Billy and Michael make everyone at home from the welcome on the porch to making sure that someone had the lights on at night and coffee ready early in the morning. Literally 7 minutes from downtown, this place will make you smile and want to stay on one of the porches reading a book or snoozing. Billy can tell you the entire history of Reynolds Mountain, the Reynolds family and much about Asheville. The mansion is filled with lovely antiques and so many photographs documenting the era. Treat yourself and stay here - leave the kids at home.
Wonderful as Always!

The Reynolds Mansion is always like a wonderful escape to another time. This was our fifth time staying at Reynolds Mansion. The Innkeeper, Billy, and the staff are always warm and welcoming. It is always a pleasure catching up with them a bit at check in and breakfast. We stayed in Linda's Room on the second floor again this time. Linda's room is furnished with glorious antiques, a gorgeous four poster bed with the most comfortable mattress, a grand, functioning gas fireplace, and comfortable overstuffed chairs. It has a private bathroom with every little toiletry you might need. Delicious cookies awaited us in a lovely waxed paper bag on a little tray at the foot of the bed, along with a note with info about the inn and wifi, etc. We enjoyed an exceedingly comfortable, quiet night of sleep. Downstairs in the dining room is a guest pantry stocked with wines, water, soda, and snacks. We didn't make use of it this time, but we have in the past! In the morning we wandered out into the hallway, where 1920's jazz was playing softly. We didn't have time for a sit down breakfast this visit, but Billy graciously sent us away with our travel mugs full of their delicious coffee, and some freshly made breakfast croissant sandwiches. Staying at The Reynolds Mansion is like staying with family, if family always behaved as graciously, and generously hospitable as possible. :) Anyone seeking to stay in the Asheville area would be foolish to pass up an opportunity to stay at The Reynolds Mansion.
