Visited for afternoon tea to celebrate my wife's birthday. The staff were most helpful and the food was of an exceptional standard. The dress code is strictly followed and we noted one female was turned away for wearing jeans (later returned correctly dressed for the occasion). After tea we remained at the hotel till later and enjoyed the atmosphere. Although in the higher price range you will not be disappointed.

This is a lovely hotel with all the traditional elements of ENGLAND. The staff were very polite and helpful. My room was lovely and I had a view of the street . Lovely big bathroom and tub. You feel very special staying there and I stayed for a number of days. The only frustration I had was the plugs for you electronics. Had to crawl around on the floor to find the outlet and pull out a lamp or the radio to connect mt iPad and iPhone . At the price they charge they should have a power bar or another supplemental socket for guests to use

My husband booked dinner for my birthday last night. We had the most amazing evening.
The food was beautiful. We chose a 6 course surprise menu and loved every course. The dishes were intelligently crafted and delivered with care and elegance.
The staff were lovely, professional and friendly.
It made for a memorable experience which I will always cherish.
The singer, pianist and violins created the perfect ambience. We don't get the opportunity to dress up and go out as a couple very often and it was the most romantic setting.
Can't recommend highly enough. Been telling everyone I spoke to today that they should visit.
I now dream of spending the night here one day.

Everything about dinner here was dreary, uninspiring, poorly executed and served with the minimum of effort.
We were one of only four couples in for dinner and it's not difficult to understand why; if you're going to charge Ritz prices then quality cooking, friendly service and a nice atmosphere are surely not too much to ask - the only atmosphere in the dining room was created by a noisy air con unit directly above our table.
No engagement by staff whatsoever, even though the place was empty. We had a great story to tell about the Ritz and why we were there. No-one cared.
I had overcooked duck and a sloppy soufflé for £63. The joke's on me I suppose.
Finally, surely no-one should leave any restaurant feeling they need a burger.
London is a fantastic city overflowing with great restaurants and welcoming staff...The Ritz is not one of them.

The afternoon tea was everything you would expect it be to. Luxurious! The setting is absolutely lovely and service attentive, without being overbearing. However, I have to admit that we had better tea sandwiches at Brown's Hotel's afternoon tea, but the setting of the Ritz afternoon tea just tops ANYTHING else!
