Absolutely fantastic restaurant in a lovely setting. Beautiful garden and green area near the river. Inside the restaurant it s rustic and well laid out. Extremely pleasant owner/staff and amazing food. One of the best restaurants we've been to in a long while. Large car park as well.
Wonderful meals

Visited here twice in June, while in the area. Absolutely lovely restaurant & marvelous food. Highly recommend for friends night or romantic night out!
The menu is small but diverse, something for everyone. The young chefs out do themselves every time and are wise to do a limited menu brilliantly, rather than a huge menu half heartedly, like so many places these days. The pork belly & crackling was wonderful, I think the best I've ever eaten! My vegetarian friend was delighted & her meat eating husband very happy.
Amazing stay

Had a lovely one night stay here for a wedding near by, such a beautiful guesthouse and restaurant. Was made very welcome, and could not have been more greatful that the owner lent my partner a shirt for the wedding as he forgot his own!
Cannot fault.
Thanks so much for your hospitality.

The Riverbarn was our favorite accommodation in the whole of a two-week trip around England. Cozy rooms, comfortable beds, beautiful garden grounds and a fabulous restaurant, not to mention lovely owners. What's not to like? Do be sure to stay here if you're anywhere in the general vicinity!
Wonderful stay in idyllic Wiltshire

My husband and I stayed at the Riverbarn last Saturday night.
It is situated in Fonthill Bishop near the village church and nearly next to the Fonthill Gifford grand arch in what was originally a village post office and tea rooms (and maybe originally a cottage.) Ian and Jill Sutcliffe now run a bed and breakfast and restaurant here. Their 2 sons are the talented chefs, one having trained at a number of Michelin restaurants and is now in the Michelin guide. The food is superb....the son apparently even draws his dishes when planning them. It really is a gourmet experience, in fact they also have occasional tasting evenings with a wine merchant bringing in interesting wines. For the quality the price is excellent!
Ian,the father,is a retired choir master (Ely, Canterbury, Marlborough) so there is a friendly atmosphere for getting things right!
Breakfast in the morning was excellent and our room clean and very comfortable. After our stay we enjoyed a wonderful walk in the surrounding countryside. We certainly hope to return.
