What People are saying
excellent beach hotel

I stayed for 3 weeks in Spring in a sea view room on the 6th floor. This had a great view across Akrotiri Bay, was very well equipped [everything worked] and quiet.
The hotel has all the amenities that you would expect from a 5 star hotel and you can find these on the web site. It is conveniently close to the city centre with frequent buses or if you are fit, a walk along the beach. It has a pleasing beach, good for children and a large pool.
The food is some of the best I have ever had in a hotel. An extensive buffet where you are sure to find things that you like. The food is kept hot and replenished frequently and offers great variety. Raphael, the wine waiter, is particularly memorable amongst the serving staff.
This hotel also had the friendliest staff I have encountered from the reception staff to the staff who cleaned the rooms.
The evening entertainment was rather specialised [singers with piano/karioke machine} and more limited than I would have liked on a 3 week stay!
The hotel is well kept and modern but has no memorably stylish features but what it does, it does well.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.If you want a hotel with good amenities, excellent food, an outstanding staff then I would recommend the Appolonia.
First class service

Have just returned from The Royal Apollonia in Limassol and would not return. The hotel is situated on a main road with busy traffic at all hours and if you happen to have a room at the front, probably over a hundred are situated at the front, than be prepared for a disturbed sleep. In the brochures it mentions inland views have views to the mountains, a bit of poetic licence, just a busy thoroughfare. The road itself is surrounded by cheap tourist shops selling plastic goods, it's dirty with lots of litter in the area and when you turn left out of the hotel you have to pass huge rubbish containers which are extremely smelly. As a guest who had only booked bed and breakfast at the hotel I was extremely disappointed at the lack of any restaurants in the area that you would want to eat in. If you are happy at MCDonalds or KFC then fine but as someone who is used to fine dining I was appalled at the lack of eateries. The receptionist I asked about possible places to eat came up with two, one of which looked grubby and dirty. On two occasions my daughter and I didn't bother with dinner as the nearby facilities were dreadful. One night we ate in the Japanese restaurant in the hotel but that was a mistake. The service was awful. We had to wait 35minutes for our starters and 40 mins for our main courses. I then had to ask a waiter to clear the tables, and when I spoke to one of the managers I was told there were problems in the kitchens and was given no apology... Not what you should find in a five star hotel!
The hotel in the main restaurant was adequate for breakfast but one person making omelettes for hundreds of people is poor. Also as someone who dislikes cats there should be no animals allowed in the outside eating areas where people are having breakfast and staff should be discouraging guests from feeding them.
The daily towel collection was also a farce. I have never been in a five star where you have to hand in your towels every day in order to get clean ones the following day! The towel voucher system was not clearly explained at all and lead to a lot of confusion from guests. There was also an issue on Sunday with towels not being allowed to be allocated until 9am, at no point was there any notification this would happen... again not five star service. This was my first and last visit to Cyprus and The Royal Apollonia was very disappointing. Perhaps Cyprus needs to look at other European countries to see what they are doing better.
An upscale place that will not disappoint you

The location is close to the action, the place is nicely designed and well taken care of and the staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurants are not great and there is not enough staff around the pools and restaurants. The experience is overall above the average, for Limassol is among the best you can expect, but it comes with a price.
Shame about SOME staff - Amazing food

Rather late in reviewing as we stayed in February for my fiance's 30th. First of all we arrived late and were told we could have 1 drink before bed - hmmm I thought this was 5 star all inclusive? Any way we checked in and got to the room to find our "food" no thanks to the sandwiches that had been there god knows how long!
The room was lovely but i wish we asked for pool and beach view as over looking KFC wasn't quite what I had in mind but I do not blame the hotel for this.
FOOD - Amazing as I am a fussy eater - However we were told there was a gourmet dining italian that no longer is there.
Staff - Angelo, Elena are top notch and went above and beyond with their service as did Michael the bar manager.
although shame cant be said for front of house staff - they tried to charge us for late check out which turns out wasnt even available and stopped our all inclusive despite us not leaving until 7pm and not arriving until after midnight on our first day - this was not 5 star treatment.
However, we did have a great holiday and make some good friends I just wish they would work on their customer service.
The dining room staff are phenomenal so maybe management should take a leaf out of their book.
The spa staff were also very rude!!! Never in my life have I been so insulted - I was at first refused a massage as the lady argued with my form and insisted i was pregnant and even chose to point at me - I am not nor have ever been pregnant and of an average size this made my highly emotional and ruined the experience - equally the other woman left nail mark scratches all down my fiance's back - not impressed!
We tried to make the most of it and had a good holiday but I think that was more based on the select staff and our own company rather than the hotel.
Shame
