Lovely staff

We visited Salhouse lodge this month for an overnight stay. We booked last minute and we were travelling with a toddler. The staff could not have been more accommodating and went out of their way to be helpful. The accommodation is a dated and needs tlc in places but the room was clean and bed very comfortable. The breakfast was nice and location good for exploring Norwich, broads and other Norfolk attractions.
Campsite and hotel in lovely setting

We spent 5 nights at Salhouse Lodge campsite. They have 5 grass pitches with electric hook up close to the Hotel, quiet and peaceful with lovely countryside views. This is a perfect place to explore the Norfolk countryside with Cromer and Huntstanton not to far away. The campsite is only 20 minutes away from Norwich city and within easy reach of the Park and Ride. There are toilets and showers available. They were clean but a little tired and in need of updating. The Deputy Manager told me they were being refurbished over the winter months so I look forward to seeing the results next year.
The Hotel restaurant and bar is homely and friendly. The service in the bar and restaurant was very good and the food home made and delicious. Easily the best Garlic Bread I have ever had. We will be going back.
Dinner

Had dinner at the Salhouse lodge for the first time having passed it hundreds of times on our way to Hoveton. There was a private function in The restaurant so they allowed us to book a table in the bar with the full menu available. Very friendly staff, good choice of menu and good food and service.
Would go back again.

Great place for a Sunday lunch. I celebrated my 40th b'day with family and friends the staff were friendly and the food was great. The kids loved the outdoor play area and we didn't feel rushed to leave after we finished our meal. I will definitely be visiting again.

Stopped for lunch whilst visiting the reclamation place up the road, we had the homemade steak and kidney pie and it was lovely, whoever cooked it knows what they are doing! Place is a bit dated but I quite liked that about it, and the landlord seems to really enjoy his job which makes a change from the po-faced managers you get in a lot of places nowadays. Would definitely return if in the area.
