A very pleasant stay in this hotel. Very courteous staff and prompt service. Food is also good. The manager at the office is very helpful and considerate. A good sleep ensured after travelling a lot of places in this hotel. Value for money

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times, including while it was undergoing renovation. I have always enjoyed it here. The rooms are neat and clean, the location is very central and walking distance to several nice restaurants, including a famous restaurant with authentic Bengali cuisine. But what makes this hotel special is the accommodating service of the staff, from the manager, to the reception desk, to the restaurant during breakfast. I once requested a safe, which was not in the room and they immediately provided one. Another time, I had some questions regarding a bill after I had left Kolkata - the desk promptly provided me all the details I needed, by email. I have no hesitation recommending this to anyone.

The best part is its location. From check in to check out, everything was smooth. The two ladies at front desk are always smiling and very helpful. Breakfast was basic and need some variety. Service was also very slow. Room serviCe was efficient and fast. Overall a very good accomodation. Will for sure recommend and come back.

The hotel is centrally located but the services are average , renovation are going on, reception ok type and also the restaurant which is located next building . I can rate it as a average one. Rooms are ok type .

Hotel is centrally located. Rooms are tidy but cramped. Renovation is going on and it is very difficult to figure out way to reach your room as you have to use the lift on the other side.
Buffet break-fast is not provided.
Hotel charges "SERVICE CHARGES" on the bill over and above the government taxes. I insisted that this been knocked off as it is not write to charge the same, still I was charged service charges even though I did not use any extra services therein. This is full on cheating. On top of it the Manager was justifying that since the tariff has not been increased, they are charging service charges to offset the same.
I don't recommend this hotel to any one and this is the last time I have stayed in Samilton.
I urge the Management to not cheat the customers by charging such atrocious charges and demand the amount charged to me service charges be refunded immediately.
I am also going to use the social media effectively to make customers aware of this practice by the Samilton.
