Great stay at the Scranton Seahorse Inn
HC1994on 16/11/2017 12:51We spent a weekend in Madison at the end of October. It’s a fantastic, cute, quintessential New England town, with so much to offer for a quick weekend trip. The key to everything is knowing where to go. You need an expert who has their finger on the pulse of the area. That’s where Michael comes in. Michael is the proprietor of the Scranton Seahorse Inn. The Inn is top notch and Michael is amazing. We were immediately welcomed to the Inn and got to meet the four-legged hosts Theo and Cash. The Inn was charming and was all decked out for Halloween. The room was comfortable and quiet, and breakfast was four-star quality. Michael is a trained chef and that is on full display when you sit down to eat. It’s such a great way to start your day. If you go (and you should) be sure to take a few minutes to get Michael’s take on the area... attractions, restaurants, etc. He gave us great advice and we were so glad we listened. We had wonderful meals and some nice walks. We can’t wait to go back!
A True Gem
JeanneKLaktashon 14/11/2017 18:27What can I say about the Scranton Seahorse that hasn't already been said? Innkeeper Michael and his dogs Cash and Theo make each and every stay wonderful, providing each guest with a unique, unforgettable experience. Whether it's a comfortable room, uniquely decorated with all the comforts of home, a fresh cup of tea in the evening, or one of Michael's LEGENDARY breakfasts in the morning, your visit will hardly be ordinary.
We stayed in the Madison Getaway room downstairs this visit and I doubt we'll choose any other room. The large jacuzzi is perfect for a long soak after a busy day, and the working fireplace takes the chill off on those cold New England nights. We also loved the perfect little porch (though it was too cold this weekend to truly enjoy it).
A long hike on Friday with Michael and his dogs was a great way to shake the doldrums, and it was followed by lunch at Chow, a great spot Michael recommended.
The only bad part of the trip was when we had to leave to head back home. If you're ever in Madison, please stay with Michael--you will not be disappointed.
Relaxing start to our USA holiday
Tim Pon 17/09/2017 19:54Scranton Seahorse was the perfect start to our holiday in the states, we booked two night to relax and aclimitise to the time difference, without too much to distract us. The room was very comfortable with a large jet bath. The house also has a veranda which was perfect for enjoying a coffee in the morning. Micheal is a very good host and provides an excellent breakfast.
Great hidden gem

Historic and Hospitable
tbac2hon 07/08/2017 22:09We were in town for a work function and needed a place to stay to avoid the 90 minute drive back to Litchfield County. Scranton Seahorse was it. Michael accommodated us for the one evening and made us feel right at home. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed. The bed provided for an incredible night's sleep. The sheets were SO amazing that we ordered some for our bed at home! Prior to breakfast we walked into town. A lovely way to start the day and work off the breakfast in which we were about to indulge. Breakfast was delicious and filling. Upon departure, Michael provided direction re: a local lavender farm which proved to be heaven on earth! A great stay in the heart of Madison.
