Upton is a great place for a short stay, particularly if the weather is nice. The location of the Swan next to the river is perfect and if you feel like traveling further afield, there are loads of places in Wales or Worcestershire within an easy drive. The Swan is a very old building so it is not like a modern hotel, but to me this is an advantage as it is very atmospheric and the rooms and bar are all of a good size and very comfortable. Meals are available in the bar and are reasonably priced and of good quality; the breakfast is also excellent. I have stayed on many occasions and have always found the proprietor and his staff to be very friendly and helpful.

I’ve stayed here a few times for work and it’s always nice, really friendly people and nice clean and well presented rooms.
The building is old, so I places it’s worn, it’s very nice with good sized rooms, comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. The WiFi is pretty good and the food is nice.
It’s right in the river and so in the summer a lovely place to have a drink and a meal. There is not loads of parking but the village has plenty so not an issue.
Much much nicer than the usual corporate hotels and travel pits.

From a friendly welcome, a nice comfortable room and nice pub food we enjoyed our one night stay thoroughly. The hotel is in a lovely position and we couldn't find any fault with it. We found a parking space without any trouble but I can see that parking would be an issue in the summer. A short walk to and from your car is.a small price to pay for staying so close to the river.

Had a 2 night getaway here with my wife and cannot rate the staff & the breakfast highly enough!! Ideal location for exploring Upton with many pubs & restaurants just a short walk away. Lovely riverside location - we’ll definitely be coming back!!

Ate here one night whilst staying nearby. We chose the Steak and Guinness pie which we were assured was "a proper pie" made with shortcrust pastry. Unfortunately, the pastry was not "short" but I suspect had been microwaved and was very soggy. The meat in the pie was very good.
The hotel is in a lovely position by the side of the Severn and a good place to sit and have a drink.
