the hotle is well located and excllent food and breakfast
but room 114 is above the kitchen and in spite me asking for fans to be turned off nothing was done
then in morning i was offered £25 off not enough for a full night of no sleep as that the purpose of a bedroom
but i was in a hurry and left as the hotel is very good
avoid the rooms above the kitchen

In brief, I have stayed at The Swan for several years. The rooms are a little dated but clean. The Location is excellent and the staff are always friendly.
The last couple of stays we have found that the food has been less than average! Firstly we ordered sandwiches to the room on our last visit and they were poor and really overpriced!
The breakfast was a joke! (see the images), I am not sure what was so "full" about it! Oh and it took 30 mins to arrive!

Really nice hotel. Friendly and excellent service. The only problem, as other reviewers have mentioned, was that it was a bit noisy. I stayed on a Friday night and was woken about 7 on the Saturday morning by an internal noise (vacuum cleaner? washing machine?) that was tough to sleep through. Didn't have an issue with noise from the bar, but I was out in town so not in bed very early - hence disappointment at early morning disturbance!! But overall very nice and would definitely stay again when in Stafford.

Had 1 night here before going to Gatehouse theatre to see Circus of horrors. Lovely staff, clean room & lovely dinner. Busy buzzing hotel/bars etc. Only let down was Breakfast service, waited ages for porridge "we are very busy in other eating places", but possible just not organised. Might as well have food from help yourself to start off. Main breakfast came quickly & was very tasty. I think because our waitress was also on night before possibly tired?. Would stay again anyway.

We had an overnight stop at this hotel, our room was a standard room and was clean and comfortable with standard facilities, They have a busy restaurant, where we manage to get a reasonable evening meal, and also a busy bar all open to non residents. The hotel is situated on a pedestrianized road and cannot be accessed at the front by car but has to be accessed from the back from the hotel car park which can be a bit difficult to find, I recommend looking it up before you travel.
Our room was at the back of the hotel and was reasonably quiet apart from the church clock bell which struck on the hour every hour and did disturb us through out the night.
