Visited the spa as a birthday gift but it was probably the most awkward and uncomfortable of experiences I have had in this kind of setting. Staff were clearly unhappy and very poor communication with catering and bar staff. I felt that we had got caught up in some ongoing disagreements and were in the way. Without going into the whole story, the hotel offered us a complimentary return visit which we booked, but were recently informed the spa is now permanently closed. So no refunds, reductions or complimentary return visit, just a bitter memory of poor service. Not to be repeated.

This is an excellent hotel, we booked a junior suite and amenities where fantastic. Lovely, large lounge, comfortable bed and great breakfast. Would definitely come back again. Could have done with better mirror already in the room but could get one from reception if needed.

This was a return visit for myself and a few others and to be honest was not a great exoerience
Staff were friendly and prompt with taking drink orders on arrival but that is where the good service stopped I'm afraid.
Our Camembert starter was burnt and more like scrambled egg
One member is celiac and there isn't much choice on the menu but went for a goats cheese salad which arrived 10 minutes after my meal which came 5 minutes after our friends sushi
We were left without drink for the whole of our main course which we had waited over an hour for after our starter and when we asked a member of staff we were told "we do have a large party in" would not return in a hurry feel it was overpriced for what you got.

We attended the Restuarant for a friends birthday..atmosphere, service and food all highly recommended. The lunchtime soup and freshly made sushi was so gorgeous- we ordered more !
Fantastic place for a girly lunch or a top class celebration..this place really know how to do it.

Visited the restaurant last weekend as part of a celebratory meal for a milestone wedding anniversary. The restaurant was full with people having a good time, we had pre-ordered so settled down at our table and ordered drinks.
Then the chaos began, two people received drinks almost immediately and then another three people received their starters, followed by four more drinks and dribs and drabs of starters until approximately 10 minutes later all starters had been delivered, but those people who had waited for others before eating had warm food rather than hot.
Everybody had finished their starters before the final six people received their drinks, after this things ran much smoother, as we ordered bottles of wine and helped ourselves. The main meals came out much better and all hot, however the price was way to high for the food that was served.
We finished our meals and after two hours were politely escorted to a bar upstairs to finish our drinks. We decided that more drinks should be had and a number of the group went to the bar to order, the guy behind the bar was rude, obnoxious, full of his own self importance and ordered other members of the bar staff around like they where something that he had stepped in.
After what seemed an eternity we eventually got our drinks and then to add insult to injury, he short changed us by £10.00, and refused point blank to rectify the situation. When we asked to speak to the manager, he said I am the bar manager and proceeded to ignore any complaint.
Having spent over £600.00 on food and drink in the restaurant, we where treated appallingly by the bar manager on what should have been a day to remember for all the right reasons.
Never again!
