It took some time to decide the overall rating for this hotel because there are many great features about this property, however, we felt the hotel fell short on the "very good" mark given the fact the "Westin" name commands a higher price.
First, the employees are wonderful and very friendly. They are by far the best asset of the hotel. However, on almost every request, or situation, they must consult the manager.
The room was clean and comfortable, but missing small conveniences. Ie: a light switch was only present for the bathroom lights and entry lights. Bedside lights required turning/spinning like an old style lamp, however, this "switch" was rather difficult to turn. The included power outlet on the lamp was loose and would cause a charger to randomly not charge if the prongs moved. These are little things, which when added up, separate "average," "very good" and "excellent" hotels.
Our toilet continually ran, despite being serviced on two occasions by Maintenance. At night we had to open the tank and adjust the float after each use to stop the consistent water flow. When brought up to the staff they were very apologetic and assured us it would be fixed. Generally hotels will make some sort of gesture for any inconveniences. Since none were offered, we inquired about what the hotel would be willing to do. We again got the "have to check with the manager" line. The hotel did give us vouchers for $20.00 off food/room service, etc which was appreciated.
The hotel was rather full and so changing to another room was not availible, hence the multiple calls to maintenance.
The food was good and what we would expect from a similar hotel.
While we did experience negatives during our stay (some listed above), we felt the staff kept the hotel and our stay in the "positive" side of things. Overall, this was by no means a negative experience, there were just several complications which caused this to be an "average" stay.
There are several good restaurants in close proximity to the hotel. One day we took a walk to the water front off of Main Street, which was much shorter of a walk then we expected.
Special note about parking; there is a public structure across the street that was significantly cheaper and allows 24 hour/over night parking. We easily found spots in this structure throughout the day/night.

I attended a wedding reception here recently. The steak was cooked perfectly, the mashed potatoes were delicious, and the wait staff was quick and efficient. They did take my plate before I was finished once when I got up to dance, but when I mentioned it, they brought me whole new plate. The area was nice, though the cocktail hour was crowded because of the L shape of the room. We had a great time and the room was just the right size. The bar had only rail liquors though, and the moscato gave me a headache after two glasses.

I stayed at The Westin for the first time on my business trip to Annapolis. I loved it. The staff were so kind and the hotel was beautiful. I had a nasty cold during my stay and housekeeping noticed my collection of decongestants and Vicks vaporub on the counter in conjunction with the million tissues in the trash can. Not only did he/she make sure I had a new box of tissues but they also left a note saying they hoped I felt better.
I ordered breakfast to my room using the hanging order form that you put out on your door, never done it before. My breakfast arrived on time and piping hot. It was a great way to start the day.

We stayed at this hotel for a family wedding. It was fantastic. The hotel is very well maintained, fairly new, extremely clean and great service. Staff are very friendly and professional. All the guest rooms come with had held showers as well as the wide overhead showers which is great for relaxation. All the rooms have great view of the hotel surroundings. It is a 5 minute drive or a 15 min walk to the very beautiful downtown Annapolis. 10 minute drive to the Annapolis mall and the shopping centers. Very convenient location. Easy drive to and from the BWI airport. I highly recommend this place and will definitely stay again.

Only five small items keep me from giving this Hotel a excellent rating. They may seem trivial in comparison to all the wonderful things that this hotel does so very well.
The first was the USB plugs where all broken in my room and the front desk had none to lend even though they acknowledged that they new many where broken.the second was the pool was closed. The third is a double edge ,I appreciate the hotel is smoke free but would like to see a enclosed ventilated area on the grounds for smokers to go to instead of standing outside the entrance of hotel puffing away in freezing in cold weather. Fourth some of the resturant staff need to look in a mirror or have someone else check their appearence . To many wrinkled shirts with rumpled collars and not tucked in to go unnoticed by guests.Lastly the facilty needs to be on a short list for updating. To maintain such a high profile some areas definitely needed refreshing.

It is one of the cleanest hotels both public areas and rooms that I have ever stayed at.
The beds where heavenly .
The area was friendly and food well prepared.
