My family of four just returned from a fun weekend getaway in Vancouver. We wanted a downtown hotel close to shopping and it needed a pool.
I was so happy to have come across The Westin Grand. The Westin Grand is an all-suite hotel located on Robson st (a great shopping area in Vancouver). It is newly renovated.
We had a 1-bed suite with a King bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the main living room. All suites have floor to ceiling windows that bring in a lot of light. The king bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom is very modern.
The best part of the hotel for us was the rooftop heated pool. We spent a lot of time at the pool during our three day stay. We even swam when it was raining. There is also a great fitness centre with a sauna and steam room.
The only downside was that one of the two elevators is currently being renovated. We still had access to two elevators (one main guest elevator and the service elevator). We only had to wait a long time on two occasions, the rest of the time we had an elevator in minutes. The renovations will be completed soon.
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. I would absolutely recommend it and plan on staying here again!

Great hotel. The location is perfect, being right on Robson, a short distance from BC Place and Rogers Arena, along with shopping and restaurants.
The hotel is clean, as are the rooms. The staff is friendly. While one of their elevators was under repair and it led to some waiting times, it was only a minor inconvenience.
It's my 'go to' place to stay whenever I'm in Vancouver.

The room is great. I would have given this hotel 5 stars if it wasn't for the elevator problem. They normally have 2 elevators. They have 1 elevator under renovation (from Nov 2017 to April 2018) but they are allowing people to share the service elevator so there are still 2 elevators which is the normal number of elevators but today we waiting 5 min for both elevators and they kept passing our floor so ended up walking down 12 flights of stairs. If I was someone who physically can't do stairs, I would not stay here at least during the duration of the elevator repair but maybe even beyond that. I really think they just don't have enough elevators for 31 floors of customers. The room is spacious, well appointed and looks to have been renovated recently. There are excellent lounging chairs at the end of each queen sized bed, the bathroom is luxurious w/ rain shower separate from tub. Not much of a view from my room 1206. Again, I would have been happy to give a 5 star rating if it wasn't for the elevator issue. The lobby isn't anything special. The check in was very quick.

Stayed five nights for a mixture of business and a quick weekend getaway. SPG Gold gave me a modest view upgrade in a deluxe suite. Newly renovated rooms were very clean. Even the water boiler was sparkling clean!
Very nice desk to do some work on as well.
A tip though, you have to ask for your free bottle of water as your SPG benefit and not automatically in your room like other SPG properties I’ve been to.

The Grandish parts are the location and the very nicely appointed and thought out rooms.The service was very good.
Entrance and lobby not so Grand
The rooms are very comfortable with floor to ceiling windows,ours had a nice city view
Bathroom was very nice with shower and bath tub
There was a separate Living area and bedroom.Nice Robes were provided.
Coffee maker,mini bar in the room,Nice lighting and overall very comfortable with the bed and bedding a delight
Location is excellent,close to many entertainment venues,Yaletown,Gastown,Chinatown,Robson & Granville streets etc
On the bottom floor there is a liquor store and a pub on the corner of the building not operated by the hotel.
Onsite restaurant good for breakfast but not Grand
A 20 second walk and there is a grocery store so a lot of amenities in a very close proximity
Nice outdoor pool area and very good fitness centre
I would stay here again anytime and look forward to do so
