Fortunately I got to stay here again! Met some really cool people and always feel at home here at the Westin. Was a little disappointed as the daily grill was closed for a couple of hours due to a gas leak which was to help guest. All went well. Finally discovered the gym and the jacuzzi!
This is a great choice if your flying out as it is five minutes to LAX!

I stayed one night on Nov 16-17,2017
When arrived faced a very unhappy receptionist who sent me to an handicap room regardless I did not requested.
Room had handicap shower and a TV 40 ft away from bed
After complaining was moved to another room where no toiletries usually at any Westin are standard
Room was over priced, not clean and smell smoke from cigarette.
Tired after a long trip from Miami I had no energy to walk the endless corridors to the reception and exchange Another room
When I called reception for a tooth brash was delivered after 30 minutes
In the morning I went to have breakfast, a military base will treat you better.
Hotel is old and not renovated at least 10 years
Overpriced for what it is !!

The hotel is only a 5 minute ride from the airport and they offer a free shuttle. Check-in was fast and easy and staff was friendly.
ROOM (#1061)
The room was also nice and clean. The only issue I had was the safe was already locked upon checking in. It took them 32 minutes to respond to unlock it.
The room had 2 double beds and 1 night stand, sofa chair and ottoman, mini bar fridge (empty but option to have it stocked), desk/dresser combination and chair, closet with hangers, iron and board, a safe for valuables, TV, clock, 7 electrical plugs and 4 USB plugs available for electronics. The air condition worked well.
BATHROOM
The bathroom was was nice and clean. There was a toilet, sink with countertop space, shower/bathtub combination, hairdryer, and 2 outlet plugs for electronics.
GYM/OUTDOOR POOL
The gym was real nice and had lots of equipment options. There was a cable machine, 7 ellipticals, 5 treadmills, 3 stationary bicycles, dumbbells 5-50 pounds, 2 benches, chest press machine, shoulder press machine, leg press machine, leg extension machine, leg curl machine, and exercise balls.
I did not use the pool but it looked nice.
LOUNGE
The lounge was nice and had some good options in the evening. Hey had water and sodas, vegetables, cheeses, turkey wraps, chicken and vegetable zeti, breaded chicken, and a couple different dessert options.
OVERALL
Overall I’m giving them a 5 because I don’t think they should be knocked down to a 4 just for the locked safe issue. They offer a free shuttle. The hotel is close, convenient and clean. The room was also nice and clean and comfortable. The gym had lots of equipment to choose from. The lounge not only had a nice selection of food but the food was tasty. I would definitely stay here again.

I am a loyal SPG member for the last 10 years and rarely stay at any other hotel chains, I make an exception when I have a short stay at LAX. The Westin is definitely consistently BAD, I have persisted with the hotel for the last five years but really enough is enough. The hotel is should not be a SPG rated hotel, the rooms are old and noisy and I feel sorry for the staff as the management obviously make no changes. I would again recommend you stay at another hotel and save yourself the frustration of a terrible nights accommodation.

Hotel looks nice from the outside. It is located not far from the airport
I arrived the hotel before noon and was given the room, nice gesture that many hotels do not make
The air condition system in the hotel’s hallways is working extra hours and the hallways are frozen
Water in the room’s shower are cold, I waited for a few minutes but still the water were mainly cold
Heard almost every take off from the nearby airfield. Hotel must do something about it
Public areas are wide and nice
