We travelled to Melbourne last March to take in the 2017 Grand Prix of Australia and stayed at The Westin. A nicely-appointed wonderful hotel with friendly and efficient staff, and a central location within easy walking distance of a wide variety of top-notch restaurants.

Booked in for high tea for a bridal shower. Firstly we weren't actually directed up to the main room and sat waiting in the foyer beyond our starting time. When we got to the room it was really nice, however the wait staff were far below the standard that one would expect. The first waiter didn't actually explain that he was taking all drink orders (not just coffee as that was all he said to anyone) and then we had a huge hassle to add alcoholic drinks to our tables order. Disappointed that tea wasn't served alongside the food and we had to order it. Our bottomless sparkling was hardly topped up and we were met with some resistance when we asked for one last refill for a toast before leaving.
On the other hand the food was fantastic, there was barely a crumb left and a great mix of sweet and savoury treats.
Trying to split the bill was another experience it itself (despite the 3 set prices) although they did let us pay individually via card which made up for the slow service.
Given how few people were there I feel like we could have been 'fussed' over more and was surprised at the noise level in the room. I would look elsewhere if I was to book a high tea for a group again.

We stayed at Westin Melbourne hotel for only two nights.Great location with clean rooms- comfortable and excellent service.The breakfast was great.The staff was friendly and very welcoming.Highly recommend.

Was there in end october for 4 nites
The rooms are very spacious but little dated.
The lights in the 1st room I had on 3rd flr kept flickering which was very annoying.
Asked for a change of rooms after the 2nd nite when it cldn't be fixed.
There was construction just outside for a new train station which wld make it even more convenient, The location is hard to beat tho- lots of food and shops are town hall, theatre are incrediibly close by. Westin might have offered a cheaper rate for the noise (over SGD$400) breakfast NOT included , wd have made a good PR move even tho most ppl wld not be in their rooms much during the day.

Love this hotel. Rooms are spacious as are the bathrooms. I think the Westin chain have probably got the best beds of any hotel I have stayed in.
The staff are a credit to the hotel and will make an effort to get to know you and your needs.
The Allegra restaurant serves a great breakfast and there is also the Library for a less formal eating area. Good offerings for a single plate or shared.
Valet parking is available. There are some major works going on adjacent to the hotel. I think they are expanding the rail system so there could be a station coming soon.
While at a higher end of the price scale - the extras are worth it.
