Trek to the tube

Very basic hotel with breakfast included. Communication is not the greatest between the pub and the staff running the rooms upstairs. We had to wait over an hour for someone to finish our room, and we arrived well after checking in time. One member of staff was extremely rude every time we had to deal with him. A thirty minute walk to the nearest tube. Avoid.
Basic hotel near Camden

Arrived around 1pm and met the owner Patrick in the bar. He showed us the room in the second floor. Basic room. Quiet area. The hotel can be reached from Camden by bus 42 (Pimlico). The bath rooms are shared with 5 other rooms, but there are three showers (one didn´t work). We were promised a bag of breakfast at 08 on Sunday by Patrick, but that did not happen.
Can be recommended if you would like a cheap stay near Camden and just need to spend the night there. On the up, I would like to recommend the bar downstairs with a wide selection of drafts and bottled beers.
Good value but not what we expected

We booked this place because it was the cheapest place we could find for two nights in London (£65/night + breakfast) and when we arrived we were really positive. The guys who greeted us were very welcoming and the room looked very nice with towels and toiletries etc laid out. We didn't see either of the blokes again though and it was only when I went down to the bar to ask about checking out that they showed any interest in us.
Upon closer inspection we discovered that the towels weren't clean and were stained. Later when I went for a shower I discovered nowhere in the dingy cupboard I found myself in for me to hang my towel meaning I had to put it on the very suspect floor. The bathrooms were not cleaned on either day we stayed and smelt awful throughout our stay. The general cleanliness of the room was pretty poor with lines of dust visible on the carpet and drawers, meaning we had nowhere to put our clothes. We are both fresh out of university and are used to sleeping in student accommodation but the room was worse than anything either of us had experienced before.
The bar downstairs is very nice and occasionally has a live music act, which is fun if you want to go down in the evening, but when you are trying to sleep at 3am and the band are still awake and playing music in a back room this can get quite irksome.
The breakfast was fantastic and made our morning. However it is served at a cafe across the road so is not really any great achievement of the Westport Inn.
Overall, the b&b is good value and is handy if you need a place to crash for the night, but if you are a couple I would suggest avoiding and spending a bit more for a nicer experience. With a bit more attention to detail, and some thought for the little things (towel hooks, clean drawers etc) this could be a lot better.
A good place to rest our weary heads.

I read a lot of different reviews of this hotel and the good reviews outweighed the bad, so this is our perspective of the Bluebell Inn (aka Westport Inn) in London. We arrived in London on 13 July 2014 early in the morning and my wife and I were going to place our luggage in a storage area but they wanted £6 per piece for three hours, so we decided to take a chance and go by the B&B early and try to drop off our bags, and we were able to do so, but don't count on this as an option when you arrive in London early as we did, unless you clear it with the B&B. The only reason we were able to do this was because there was someone in the bar at the time of our arrival. As we were leaving the gentleman (Joe) informed us that check-in was 3 pm. So my wife and I came back at 3 and had to wait till almost 4 pm to get checked-in. While we waited we sat in the bar and had a beer and met the bartender Rea. She was amazing very friendly and she told us about the area while we waited.
Patrick the proprietor came and brought us up to the room, and gave us a quick run down of the facility. The room is very basic so do not expect a five or four star hotel. There was no air conditioner or fan in the room so depending on the night you are either going to be hot or cold. The hair dryer in our room didn't work, so I mentioned it to Patrick and he went and either purchased one or borrowed one from a friend, whichever was the case; problem solved. The tea kettle was also broken, tried using it and the water would not get hot, so I borrowed the bars tea kettle. The door to the room had no door handle and we had to let the door slam shut, but I felt that was rude to the other guests, so we improvised and put the key in the lock turned it a bit and then shut the door.
The room we stayed in was large and had a very small TV, not that my wife and I stayed in the room much. The bed was comfortable, but it sagged to the middle. This was a place we could put our heads down and rest at night. Since the window had to be open to cool down the room it was somewhat noisy at night. Again, we improvised and we had ear plugs that we used so we could sleep. Even though there was a bar under our room the bar noise never bothered us.
There were three bathrooms we could use and each had a shower, but one shower was out of order. The one we used all the time had a broken shower door, and I was constantly trying to keep it fixed so water would not get all over the floor. There were NO creepy crawlers (major plus) that I had seen. The walls are thin so we could hear the other guests in the rooms next to us.
Patrick is very nice and is willing to help in any way possible. The bar under the B&B was nice and they are close to finishing renovating it. As I mentioned in the beginning Rea (bartender) was awesome, she will help you every way possible. I also met Patricks brother (Tom) and he was also very nice.
Breakfast is included with the B&B and is taken care of across the street in a place called "Times Cafe". We had breakfast for three days there and breakfast was excellent.
Notable items:
There is a 24 hour mini-taxi stand across the street, and the route 24 bus which runs 24 hours a day and we rode this every day/night. The cost of the bus ride was £1.45. The liquor store across the street can top up your Oyster card if you have one, and if you are coming from the states it is advisable to prepurchase your Oyster card. I would also recommend buying the London pass before arriving this was very useful because many lines were long and we were able to bypass the lines and fast track in saving time and frustration.
Everything I wanted.

Being a last minute booking, I was looking for the best budget bed I could find. What a find!
The Bluebell, as it is now called, has just gone through a name change, hence Tripadvisor being a bit behind. Along with this, the bar has been totally revamped into a slick, purple, modern look. The B&B part is a little behind in the style revamp but I was after a comfortable bed, clean room and hot shower, which were all delivered.
The kitchen appears to be out at the moment but they have made a deal with a cute local cafe over the road from whom I got a very sizeable full english and a decent coffee.
The bar staff are very sociable and know the area very well with advice about where to eat and what to see.
All in all, would recommend.
